Circuit Description
Transmission input speed sensor consists of a permanent magnet surrounded by a coil of wire. Rotation of input shaft drive sprocket housing induces an AC voltage in circuit. Signal voltage and frequency vary directly with input shaft drive sprocket rotational speed. Input speed sensor has a resistance of 1300-1950 ohms. P0716 detects an unrealistically large change in input speed.
