Windows 8 illustrations ~224 words

DESCRIPTION

Power window system consists of

  1. Driver window switch
  2. Passenger window switches in each door
  3. Power window motors in each door
  4. PWR WDO (25-amp) circuit breaker

DRIVER WINDOW OPERATION

When ignition switch is in RUN position and driver window switch is pressed to DOWN position, voltage is applied to window motor down control circuit through junction block circuit breaker, causing driver window to open. Circuit breaker is located in passenger side instrument panel junction block. When driver window switch is pressed to UP position, voltage is applied to window motor up control circuit and driver window closes. Return path to ground is supplied through inactive control circuit. Driver window switch also controls passenger windows.

PASSENGER WINDOW OPERATION

When ignition switch is in RUN position, lockout switch is disengaged (up) and individual power window switch is pressed to DOWN position, voltage is applied to power window motor down control circuit causing appropriate window to open. When individual power window switch is pressed to UP position, voltage is applied to appropriate power window motor up control circuit causing appropriate window to close. Return path to ground is supplied through inactive control circuit. Operation is same from driver window switch, except that lockout switch position is ignored.
