DESCRIPTION

1. The buzzer for warning chime system is installed in the combination meter.
2. The buzzer sounds when the combination meter receives a buzzer output signal from the BCM.
3. The BCM receives signals from various units and transmits a buzzer output signal to the combination meter with CAN communication line if it judges that the warning buzzer should be activated.

Scheme 27

With ignition switch in OFF or ACC position, driver door open, and lighting switch in 1st or 2nd position, the light warning chime will sound.

1. BCM detects ignition switch in OFF or ACC position, front door switch LH ON, and lighting switch in 1st or 2nd position, and then transmits buzzer output signal (light reminder warning chime) to combination meter with CAN communication line.
2. When combination meter receives buzzer output signal (light reminder warning chime), it sounds the buzzer.

WARNING OPERATION CONDITIONS

If all of the following conditions are fulfilled

1. Lighting switch is in 1st or 2nd position
2. Ignition switch is in OFF or ACC
3. Front door switch LH is ON

With ignition switch turned ON and driver seat belt unfastened, seat belt warning chime will sound for approximately 6 seconds.

1. BCM receives seat belt buckle switch signal from combination meter with CAN communication line.
2. BCM detects ignition switch turned ON and seat belt buckle switch LH ON, and then transmits buzzer output signal (seat belt warning chime) to combination meter with CAN communication line.
3. When combination meter receives buzzer output signal (seat belt warning chime), it sounds the buzzer.

If all of the following conditions are fulfilled

1. Ignition switch OFF-->ON
2. Seat belt buckle switch LH is ON (driver seat belt not fastened)

KEY WARNING CHIME (WITHOUT INTELLIGENT KEY): System Description

With the key inserted into the key switch, and the ignition switch in the OFF or ACC position, when driver's door is opened, the warning chime will sound.

1. BCM detects key inserted into the ignition switch, and sends key warning signal to combination meter with CAN communication line.
2. When combination meter receives key warning signal, it sounds warning chime.

Scheme 28

1. The combination meter receives the vehicle speed signal from the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) via CAN communication line.
2. The combination meter judges whether the parking brake is released using the parking brake switch signal from the parking brake switch, and sounds the warning buzzer if necessary.

If all of the following conditions are fulfilled

1. Vehicle speed is approximately 7 km/h (4.3 MPH) or higher
2. Parking brake switch ON

TYPE A: Description

Transmits a seat belt buckle switch LH signal to the combination meter.

TYPE B: Description

Transmits a seat belt buckle switch LH signal to the combination meter.

Transmits a key switch signal to the BCM.

Transmits the parking brake switch signal to the combination meter.

Transmits the parking brake switch signal to the combination meter.

1. The parking brake warning buzzer sounds continuously during vehicle travel though the parking brake is released.
2. The parking brake warning buzzer does not sound at all even though driving the vehicle with the parking brake applied.

1. Seat belt reminder warning does not sound.
2. Seat belt reminder warning sounds continuously.

Light reminder warning chime does not sound even though headlamps are illuminated.

The key warning chime does not sound, when all of the following conditions are fulfilled.

1. Key inserted into the key cylinder (key switch signal ON).
2. Ignition switch is in ACC or OFF (ignition switch signal OFF).
3. Driver side door is open (driver side door switch ON)
