Engine Lubrication System: Removal & Installation Nissan Versa II

INSTALLATION

  1. Install new O-rings on the oil pan (upper) before installing the oil pump. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-605939-S00194012232014032500000) ". CAUTION: Do not reuse O-rings.
  2. Install the oil pump.
  3. Tighten the oil pump bolts to specification in the order shown below.
  4. Install timing chain and oil pump drive chain. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-605933-S18293763442014032500000) ".

REMOVAL

CAUTIONWhen removing components such as hoses, tubes/lines, etc., cap or plug openings to prevent fluid from spilling.
  1. Remove the engine under cover. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-605937-S02519300712014032500000) ".
  2. Drain engine oil. Refer to " «DRAINING»(ref-605939-S05113950672014032500000) ".
  3. Drain engine coolant. Refer to " «DRAINING ENGINE COOLANT»(ref-605935-S26294057612014032500000) ". CAUTION: Perform when engine is cold.
  4. Remove oil filter. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-605939-S00469918352014032500000) ".
  5. Remove water hoses from the oil cooler.
  6. Remove oil cooler and O-ring. CAUTION: Do not reuse O-rings.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Ensure that no foreign objects are adhering to the sealing surfaces of the oil cooler and oil pan (upper).
  2. Tighten connector bolt after aligning cutout (1) on oil cooler with protrusion (2) on oil pan (upper) side. CAUTION: Do not reuse O-ring. Replace relief valve if removed.
