DESCRIPTION

Pulsar NX headlight door assemblies are electrically operated, and can be opened or closed by headlight switch. System components consist of a fuse block, headlight switch, retract relay-up, retract relay-down, and headlamp motors.

OPERATION

The following table describes the basic operation of the headlight system.

BASIC OPERATION

CIRCUIT MODE OF OPERATION [A-1]

This mode of operation occurs when the lighting switch is switched from 1ST to 2ND. Headlamp motor is operating headlamps to the open position.

This mode of operation occurs when the lighting switch is switched from 1ST to OFF. Headlamp motor is operating headlamps to the closed position.

This mode of operation occurs when the lighting switch is switched to PASSING. Headlamp motor is operating headlamps to the open position (moment the lighting switch is turned to PASSING position).

This mode of operation occurs after the lighting switch is released from the PASSING position. Headlamp motor is is operating headlamps to the open position.

HEADLAMP MOTOR CHECK

CAUTIONPrior to performing continuity test, disconnect ground cable from battery.

Use an ohmmeter to check for continuity in headlamp motor circuit while rotating motor with manual knob. (Scheme 11)
