COOLANT TEMPERATURE GAUGE

Gauge indicates engine coolant temperature. Gauge should register below HOT range while vehicle is driving.

OIL PRESSURE GAUGE

Gauge indicates engine oil pressure. Gauge may normally drop below normal range at idle or rise above normal when engine is cold. If gauge continuously registers low oil pressure, stop vehicle immediately and check oil level. If oil level is satisfactory and gauge still registers below normal, service lubricating system as soon as possible.

OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT

If light comes on while vehicle is driven, oil pressure is low. Stop vehicle immediately, and check oil level. If oil level is okay and light remains on, service system as soon as possible.

VOLTMETER

Indicates battery voltage. If gauge falls below normal range and remains there while engine is running, check the alternator belt. If the belt tension is okay but light remains illuminated, have the electrical system serviced as soon as possible.

EMISSION SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT

If CHECK light comes on while engine is running, a problem in the emission control system is indicated. Continued operation without checking the system may result in damage to engine emission components. Have vehicle serviced as soon as possible.

CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT

Light illuminates when ignition key is turned to ON position (engine off). When engine is started, light should go off. If it remains on, battery charging system may be malfunctioning.

BRAKE WARNING LIGHT

Light will come on with parking brake fully or partially engaged. If light remains on after parking brake is disengaged or comes on at any other time, brake fluid level in master cylinder reservoir may be low or parking brake switch may be damaged. Add brake fluid as necessary, and check and service system immediately. DO NOT continue driving if BRAKE light is on.

EXHAUST GAS SENSOR LIGHT (1983-86)

If light comes on while the engine is running, have the exhaust gas sensor serviced as soon as possible. This warning system does not operate after maintenance has been performed at 90,000 miles for USA models.

A/T OIL TEMP WARNING LIGHT (4WD)

If light comes on while driving, it indicates that the automatic transmission oil temperature is too high. Stop the vehicle as soon as possible and idle the engine to cool down the transmission oil.

POWER INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)

Light will come on to indicate that the electronically controlled automatic transmission is under the power shift pattern. The light should come on for 2 seconds when the ignition is turned to the ON position with the power shift switch in AUTO position. If the light blinks for 8 seconds, there may be a problem with the automatic transmission. Have the transmission checked as soon as possible.

4WD INDICATOR LIGHT

Indicates that the transfer shift lever is in the 4H or 4L position.

WATER IN FUEL FILTER WARNING LIGHT (DIESEL)

If light comes on while engine is running, drain fuel filter of water immediately.

CRUISE CONTROL INDICATOR LIGHT

Light comes on when the cruise control main switch is turned on.

CRUISE INDICATOR LIGHT

CRUISE light is illuminated as long as the vehicle speed is controlled by the cruise control system.
