Seats: Overhaul Nissan Note E12

ASSEMBLY

Assembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.

  1. Tighten the side air bag module nuts to specification. Refer to " «DRIVER SIDE: EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675605-S33522313702014120500000) ".
  2. Tighten the chute rod nuts to specification. Refer to " «DRIVER SIDE: EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675605-S33522313702014120500000) ".
  3. Install new hog rings on the seatback trim in original positions.
  4. Use only one hog ring in each designated location.
  5. Make sure hog rings are correctly fastened around both the seatback trim and seatback pad wires.
  6. Use NISSAN standard hog rings and tools to assemble.
CAUTIONDo not reuse the side air bag module nuts. Do not reuse the chute rod nuts. Inspect seatback pad, seatback trim and seatback trim chutes. Replace if damaged. Smooth out all wrinkles during assembly. Always route side air bag module harness in original location. Replace any deformed or damaged clips with same type and color. Always install clips in the original location in the harness. When installing the side air bag module, make sure there are no wrinkles and the chute is not folded, twisted or pinched. After the work is completed, perform self-diagnosis to check that no malfunction is detected. Refer to " DESCRIPTION ".

  1. Install new hog rings on the seat cushion trim in original positions.
  2. Use only one hog ring in each designated location.
  3. Make sure hog rings are correctly fastened around both the seat cushion trim and seat cushion pad wires.
  4. Use NISSAN standard hog rings and tools to assemble.
CAUTIONSmooth out all wrinkles during assembly. Always route side air bag module harness in original location. Replace any deformed or damaged clips with same type and color. Always install clips in the original location in the harness. After the work is completed, perform self-diagnosis to check that no malfunction is detected. Refer to " DESCRIPTION ".

DISASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the seat cushion. Refer to " «SEAT CUSHION: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675605-S34945010482014120500000) ".
  2. Remove the hog rings on the bottom side of seat cushion.
  3. Remove the hog rings on the top side of seat cushion and separate the seat cushion trim from the seat cushion pad. NOTE: Remove all pieces of hog rings and discard them.

Assembly is in the reverse order of disassembly.

  1. Install new hog rings on the seat cushion trim in original positions.
  2. Use only one hog ring in each designated location.
  3. Make sure hog rings are correctly fastened around both the seat cushion trim and seat cushion pad wires.
  4. Use NISSAN standard hog rings and tools to assemble.

  1. Remove the seatback (LH). Refer to " «SEATBACK: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675605-S33946689432014120500000) ".
  2. Remove the headrest.
  3. Release clips and remove latch finisher.
  4. Release pawls and remove the seat belt guide finisher.
  5. Remove nut and the seat belt guide.
  6. Rotate the seatback latch release knob counterclockwise as shown below (<==) and remove.
  7. Remove the armrest (1) (if equipped). Remove clip (A) using a suitable tool, then the armrest bracket finisher (RH) (2) as shown below (<==). Remove nuts (B), then the armrest.
  8. Release hook fasteners (A), then J-hook retainer (B).
  9. Unzip the seatback trim zipper (C), then release J-clip retainers (D).
  10. Release the headrest holder locks as shown below and remove. CAUTION: Before removing the headrest holder, check its orientation (front/rear and right/left).
  11. Remove the seatback trim and seatback pad from the seatback frame.
  12. Remove bolts and the seatback latch.
  13. Remove the hog rings and separate the seatback trim (1) from the seatback pad. NOTE: Remove all pieces of hog rings and discard them.

  1. Remove the seatback (RH). Refer to " «SEATBACK: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675605-S33946689432014120500000) ".
  2. Remove the headrest.
  3. Release clips and remove latch finisher.
  4. Rotate the seatback latch release knob counterclockwise as shown below (<==) and remove.
  5. Release hook fasteners (A), then J-hook retainer (B).
  6. Unzip the seatback trim zipper (C), then release J-clip retainers (D).
  7. Release the headrest holder locks as shown below and remove. CAUTION: Before removing the headrest holder, check its orientation (front/rear and right/left).
  8. Remove the seatback trim and seatback pad from the seatback frame.
  9. Remove bolts and the seatback latch.
