Seat Belts: Removal & Installation Nissan Note E12

REMOVAL

  1. Remove front seat. Refer to " «DRIVER SIDE: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675605-S07451646572014120500000) " (Driver Side) or " «PASSENGER SIDE: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675605-S15787162872014120500000) " (Passenger Side).
  2. Unclip seat belt buckle harness from the seat frame.
  3. Remove seat belt buckle anchor bolt and the seat belt buckle. CAUTION: Before removing the seat belt buckle anchor bolt, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Tighten the seat belt buckle anchor bolt to specification. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675618-S26590303892014120500000) ".
  2. Always perform an inspection after repair to make sure the system is functioning within specifications. Refer to " «INSPECTION»(ref-675618-S31575420432014120500000) ".

SEAT BELT RETRACTOR: Removal and Installation

WARNINGBefore servicing the SRS, turn the ignition switch off, disconnect both battery terminals then wait at least three minutes. Do not drop the seat belt retractor. Always handle it with care. Always point pretensioner cylinder away from body when handling.

  1. Disconnect negative and positive battery terminals, then wait at least three minutes. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION (BATTERY)»(ref-675572-S35311355862014120500000) ".
  2. Slide front seat to the full forward position.
  3. Remove center pillar lower finisher. Refer to " «CENTER PILLAR LOWER FINISHER: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675611-S39475785432014120500000) ".
  4. Disconnect the harness connector (A) from the seat belt retractor (1). CAUTION: For removing/installing the shoulder belt pre-tensioner harness connector, insert a thin screwdriver wrapped in tape into the notch, then lift the lock and remove the harness connector as shown below. Install the harness connector with the lock raised, and push the lock into the harness connector as shown below. After installing the harness connector, check that the lock is pushed in securely.
  5. Remove seat belt lower anchor bolt. CAUTION: Before removing the seat belt lower anchor bolt, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation.
  6. Release pawls, using a suitable tool and remove the seat belt height adjuster finisher (1).
  7. Remove D-ring anchor bolt. CAUTION: Before removing the D-ring anchor bolt, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation.
  8. Remove bolts (A) and the seat belt retractor (1).

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Make sure the seat belt height adjuster is locked in the lowest position during installation.
  2. Install the seat belt retractor upper bolt first.
  3. Tighten the D-ring anchor bolt, seat belt lower anchor bolt, and the seat belt retractor bolts to specification. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675618-S26590303892014120500000) ".
  4. Make sure both the D-ring anchors and seat belt height adjuster operate freely.
  5. Always perform an inspection after repair to make sure the system is functioning within specifications. Refer to " «INSPECTION»(ref-675618-S31575420432014120500000) ".

Scheme 5: REMOVAL
  1. Slide front seat to the full forward position.
  2. Release pawls, using a suitable tool and remove the seat belt height adjuster finisher (1).
  3. Remove D-ring anchor bolt. CAUTION: Before removing the D-ring anchor bolt, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation.
  4. Remove center pillar upper finisher. Refer to " «CENTER PILLAR UPPER FINISHER: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675611-S31689585102014120500000) ".
  5. Remove seat belt height adjuster bolts and the seat belt height adjuster. CAUTION: Before removing the seat belt height adjuster bolts, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Make sure that the seat belt height adjuster is locked in the lowest position during installation.
  2. Make sure both the D-ring anchor and seat belt height adjuster operate freely.
  3. Tighten the D-ring anchor bolt and seat belt height adjuster bolts to specification. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675618-S26590303892014120500000) ".
  4. Always perform an inspection after repair to make sure the system is functioning within specifications. Refer to " «INSPECTION»(ref-675618-S31575420432014120500000) ".

Scheme 7: REMOVAL - Seat Belt Buckle (LH)
  1. Remove rear seat cushion. Refer to " «SEAT CUSHION: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675605-S34945010482014120500000) ".
  2. Release seat belt retractor (center) (1) from seat belt buckle (LH) (2) using a suitable tool (A) as shown below.
  3. Remove seat belt buckle anchor bolt and seat belt buckle (LH). CAUTION: Before removing the seat belt buckle anchor bolt, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Tighten the seat belt buckle anchor bolt to specification. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675618-S10063694512014120500000) ".
  2. Always perform an inspection after repair to make sure the system is functioning within specifications. Refer to " «INSPECTION»(ref-675618-S31575420432014120500000) ".

REMOVAL - Seat Belt Buckle (RH)

  1. Remove rear seat cushion. Refer to " «SEAT CUSHION: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675605-S34945010482014120500000) ".
  2. Remove seat belt buckle anchor bolt and seat belt buckle (RH). CAUTION: Before removing the seat belt buckle anchor bolt, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Tighten the seat belt buckle anchor bolt to specification. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675618-S10063694512014120500000) ".
  2. Always perform an inspection after repair to make sure the system is functioning within specifications. Refer to " «INSPECTION»(ref-675618-S31575420432014120500000) ".

Scheme 8: REMOVAL - Seat Belt Retractor (LH/RH)
  1. Remove luggage side upper finisher (LH/RH). Refer to " «LUGGAGE SIDE UPPER FINISHER: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675611-S35853506082014120500000) ".
  2. For seat belt retractor (LH) (1). Remove D-ring anchor bolt (A). CAUTION: Before removing the D-ring anchor bolt, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation. Remove bolts (B) and the seat belt retractor (LH) (1). (2): Seat belt retractor (center)
  3. For seat belt retractor (RH) (3). Remove D-ring anchor bolt (C). CAUTION: Before removing the D-ring anchor bolt, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation. Remove bolts (D) and seat belt retractor (RH) (3).

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Install the seat belt retractor upper bolt first.
  2. Tighten the D-ring anchor bolt and the seat belt retractor bolts to specification. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675618-S10063694512014120500000) ".
  3. Make sure the D-ring anchor operates freely.
  4. Always perform an inspection after repair to make sure the system is functioning within specifications. Refer to " «INSPECTION»(ref-675618-S31575420432014120500000) ".

Scheme 9: REMOVAL - Seat Belt Retractor (center)
  1. Remove luggage side upper finisher (LH). Refer to " «LUGGAGE SIDE UPPER FINISHER: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675611-S35853506082014120500000) ".
  2. Remove D-ring anchor bolt (A). CAUTION: Before removing the D-ring anchor bolt, note the positions of washers and spacers for correct installation.
  3. Remove bolts (B) and seat belt retractor (center) (1). (2): Seat belt retractor (LH)

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Install the center seat belt retractor upper bolt first.
  2. Tighten the D-ring anchor bolt and the seat belt retractor bolts to specification. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675618-S10063694512014120500000) ".
  3. Make sure the D-ring anchor operates freely.
  4. Always perform an inspection after repair to make sure the system is functioning within specifications. Refer to " «INSPECTION»(ref-675618-S31575420432014120500000) ".

Removal and Installation

The LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tether for Children) system is not serviceable.

The Top Tether Strap Child Restraint system is not serviceable.
