INSTALLATION
- Install new O-rings on the oil pan (upper) before installing the oil pump. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-675583-S14622201922014120500000) ". CAUTION: Do not reuse O-rings.
- Install the oil pump.
- Tighten the oil pump bolts to specification in the order shown below.
- Install timing chain and oil pump drive chain. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675577-S36953346832014120500000) ".
- Refill engine with new engine oil. Refer to " «REFILLING»(ref-675583-S42901076442014120500000) ".
REMOVAL
| WARNING | Do not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Serious burns could occur from high-pressure engine coolant escaping from the radiator. Wrap a thick cloth around the radiator cap. Slowly turn it a quarter of a turn to release built-up pressure. Carefully remove radiator cap by turning it all the way. |
Note. When removing components such as hoses, tubes/lines, etc., cap or plug openings to prevent fluid from spilling.
- Drain engine oil. Refer to " «DRAINING»(ref-675583-S07061512712014120500000) ".
- Drain engine coolant. Refer to " «DRAINING ENGINE COOLANT»(ref-675579-S13508668632014120500000) ".
- Remove oil filter. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-675583-S41735114402014120500000) ".
- Remove water hoses from the oil cooler.
- Remove oil cooler and O-ring. CAUTION: Do not reuse O-rings.
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
Scheme 2
- Ensure that no foreign objects contacts sealing surfaces of the oil cooler and oil pan (upper).
- Tighten connector bolt after aligning cutout (1) on oil cooler with protrusion (2) on oil pan (upper) side. CAUTION: Do not reuse O-ring. Replace relief valve if removed.
