DESCRIPTION & OPERATION

CAUTIONWhen battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.

The antenna will automatically extend when the radio is turned on, and retract when switched off. If the radio is left on, the antenna will retract and extend with the ignition key "OFF/ON" operation.

Power is supplied at all times through the 7.5A fuse (No. 40), located in the fuse block (J/B), to power antenna timer and motor terminal No. 3.

When battery voltage is supplied to the power antenna timer and motor terminal No. 4, power supplied to the power antenna timer and motor terminal No. 3 drives the motor. The antenna rises and is held in the extended position.

When the radio is turned to the OFF position, battery voltage is interrupted from the radio and CD player terminal No. 5 to power antenna terminal No. 4. The antenna retracts.
