INSTALLATION

  1. Make sure that the aspirator hose is securely attached to the in-vehicle sensor when installing the instrument lower cover LH.

Scheme 158: REMOVAL
  1. Remove the front RH speaker grille (1). Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388150-S33541769502011030100000) ".
  2. Disconnect the sunload sensor electrical connector.
  3. Release the sunload sensor tabs (A) to remove it from the front RH speaker grille (1).

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Removal and Installation

The intake sensor is not available separately, the heater and cooling unit assembly, which includes the evaporator, must be replaced as an assembly. Refer to " REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".

REMOVAL

  1. Discharge the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to " «HFC-134A (R-134A) SERVICE PROCEDURE»(ref-388098-S34998593722011030100000) ".
  2. Drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to " «CHANGING ENGINE COOLANT»(ref-388102-S19244863532011030100000) " (QR25DE), " «CHANGING ENGINE COOLANT»(ref-388122-S23696630162011030100000) " (VQ35DE).
  3. Disconnect the negative and positive battery terminals.
  4. Remove the wiper motor and linkage. Refer to " «FRONT WIPER DRIVE ASSEMBLY : REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388148-S05660464782011030100000) ".
  5. Remove the cowl top. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388103-S04482295022011030100000) " (coupe), " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388104-S30108915772011030100000) " (sedan).
  6. Remove the strut tower bar. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-388109-S18459133102011030100000) ".
  7. Remove the lower RH cowl. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388103-S04482295022011030100000) " (coupe), " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388104-S30108915772011030100000) " (sedan).
  8. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core pipes. CAUTION: Cap or wrap the pipe joint with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of contaminants into the system.
  9. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the expansion valve. Refer to " «COMPONENT»(ref-388098-S00058202662011030100000) ". CAUTION: Cap or wrap the line joint with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of contaminants into the system.
  10. Remove the instrument panel assembly. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION - INSTRUMENT PANEL»(ref-388145-S23785970082011030100000) ".
  11. Remove the steering column assembly. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388106-S20234675762011030100000) ".
  12. Disconnect the drain hose.
  13. Remove the heater and cooling unit assembly attached to the steering member as one assembly from the vehicle.
  14. Remove the blower unit from the heater and cooling unit and steering member assembly.
  15. Remove the heater and cooling unit from the steering member.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Fill the radiator with the specified water and coolant mixture. Refer to " «FOR USA AND CANADA : FLUIDS AND LUBRICANTS»(ref-388101-S40774969002011030100000) ".
  2. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to " «HFC-134A (R-134A) SERVICE PROCEDURE»(ref-388098-S34998593722011030100000) ".

Scheme 161: REMOVAL
  1. Remove the heater and cooling unit assembly. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388157-S25547544062011030100000) ".
  2. Disconnect the blower motor connector (1).
  3. Remove the screws from the blower unit, then remove the blower unit from the heater and cooling unit assembly.
  4. Remove the three blower motor screws (A), then remove the blower motor from the blower unit.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the glove box. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388145-S17865018172011030100000) ".
  2. Remove the console finisher RH. Refer to " «EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-388145-S35382668962011030100000) ".
  3. Disconnect the blower motor connector (1).
  4. Remove the three blower motor screws (A), then remove the blower motor from the blower unit.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

The fan control amplifier is part of the blower motor. Refer to " REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".

  1. Remove the instrument panel assembly. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388157-S31295582452011030100000) ".
  2. Disconnect the intake door motor electrical connector (1).
  3. Remove the intake door motor screws (A).
  4. Remove the intake door motor from the blower unit.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Remove the combination meter. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388134-S38787242512011030100000) ".
  2. Remove the BCM (2). Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388146-S15192483742011030100000) ". NOTE: The illustration is shown with the heater and cooling unit assembly out of the vehicle for clarity.
  3. Disconnect the mode door motor connector (1).
  4. Remove the mode door motor screws (A) and then remove the mode door motor.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

The evaporator is part of the heater and cooling unit and is replaced as an assembly. Refer to " REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".

  1. Remove the heater and cooling unit assembly. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388157-S25547544062011030100000) ".
  2. Remove the heater grommet, heater pipe support and heater pipe cover.
  3. Remove the heater and cooling unit foot duct LH.
  4. Remove the heater core.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Make sure that the aspirator hose is securely attached to the aspirator on the heater and cooling unit foot duct LH.

Remove the center ventilator grilles (1) from the instrument panel using Tool from top center of the center ventilator grilles.

Release the tabs and then remove the side ventilator grilles using a suitable tool.

  2. Remove the upper ventilator duct screws using power tools.
  3. Remove the upper ventilator duct.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Remove the front defroster grille LH/RH from the instrument panel using a suitable tool.

CAUTIONUse a suitable tool to remove the grille to avoid damage to the instrument panel.

Remove side defroster grilles using a suitable tool.

  1. Remove the floor carpet. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-388155-S28158519292011030100000) ".
  2. Remove the rear floor duct (RH, LH) clips.
  3. Remove the rear floor ducts (RH, LH).
