SERVICE INTERVAL REMINDER LIGHT RESET INDEX
SERVICE INTERVAL REMINDER LIGHT RESET - PROCEDURE 1
The service interval light can be reset using the BMW DISplus (Service Functions, SIA reset). If the BMW DISplus is not available, using the trip odometer reset button in the instrument cluster can be used to perform reset procedure. To reset
- Turn ignition key to "0" ("off") position. Press and hold the trip odometer reset button in the instrument cluster, and turn the ignition key to the "1" (accessory) position.
- Keep the button pressed for approximately 5 more seconds until the current SII status ("Oil Service" or "Inspection") appears in the display: Release button. Press button again and hold for approximately 5 seconds to change to the reset mode. The letters "RST" appear. While the display is flashing, press button briefly to reset service interval. The new interval will be displayed for 5 seconds. Release button and turn ignition off.
SERVICE INTERVAL REMINDER LIGHT RESET - PROCEDURE 2
Condition Based Service: The service interval indicator can be reset using the BMW DISplus (Service Functions, SIA reset). If the BMW DISplus is not available, using the trip odometer reset button in the instrument cluster can be used to perform reset procedure
- Switch ignition on.
- Press the trip odometer reset button for approx. 10 seconds until the 1st service job appears in the LC display.
- The upper display in the speedometer is illuminated by a service symbol (e.g.: an oil can denotes an oil change). The lower display in the speedometer indicates the time or distance remaining until the next service (e.g.: 14000). Press the on-board computer button on the tip of the direction indicator lever repeatedly to scroll.
- To reset, press and hold the on-board computer button until "RESET" appears in the lower display.
- Pressing the on-board computer button again resets the service shown in the upper display.
- Repeat the procedure for each additional service item to be reset.

Note. This procedure is for vehicles equipped with Navigation System.
Note. Service Interval reset is accomplished through the Control Display, using the MINI joystick controller in front of the gearshift lever.
Note. Make sure the date on the Control Display is always set correctly to ensure effectiveness of Condition Based Service (CBS)
- Select the following menus: Vehicle Info > Vehicle Status > Service Required > Vehicle Inspection.
- Open the Deadline Entry Menu > Date.
- Create the settings.
- Press the MINI joystick to apply the setting. The year is highlighted.
- Turn the MINI joystick to make the adjustment.
- Press the MINI joystick to apply the setting. The date entry is stored.
- To exit from the menu: Move the MINI joystick to the left

TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 1
| CAUTION | When driving with snow chains or a space-saver spare tire, DO NOT initialize the system. |
Note. If a tire pressure has been adjusted, or a wheel or tire has been replaced, the TPM system must be reinitialized.
- Set the tire pressure of all wheels to specification.
- Start engine, but do not start driving.
- Press reset button (for no longer than 4 seconds) until tire pressure warning light illuminates Yellow for a few seconds. (Scheme 2)
- Drive vehicle. Initialization is automatically completed during the drive, without any feedback issued.
TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 2
- Check and set tire pressure on all four tires.
- Press BC button, at the tip of the turn signal stalk, to scroll through on-board computer menu.
- When SET/INFO is displayed, press and hold BC button until SET is displayed.
- Use BC button to scroll to TPM Reset. A TPMS icon and ACTIVE RESET will be displayed on screen.
- Press and hold BC button until RESTTING is displayed.
- Drive vehicle. TPMS warning light will go out when system resets.
TPMS RESET - PROCEDURE 3
Note. This procedure is for vehicles equipped with Navigation System.
Note. The vehicle can be equipped with either an Indirect TPMS (Flat Tire Monitor), or a Direct TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitor). Both systems are reset using the same procedure.
Note. Reset the system after each correction of the tire inflation pressure and after every tire or wheel change.
Note. TPMS reset (Initialization) is accomplished through the Control Display, using the mini joystick controller in front of the gearshift lever.
- Select the following menus: Vehicle Info > Vehicle Status > Reset.
- Start the engine, but do not start driving.
- Select "Reset" option to start the initialization. see scheme 3
- Start driving vehicle. NOTE: Vehicles with the Direct system: The tires are shown in gray and "Resetting TPM..." is displayed.
- Initialization is completed during driving, which can be interrupted at any time. When driving resumes, Initialization is continued automatically.
