DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
The electric cooling fan system consists of a 2-speed fan controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through a low speed cooling fan relay and a high speed cooling fan relay. Engine temperature is monitored by the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. The cooling fans are activated when ignition switch is on and engine temperature is high. Cooling fan also operates when A/C system is used. Contour and Mystique 2.5L are equipped with 2 cooling fans.
