Removal and Installation
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233036) .
- Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt and the CMP sensor. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Scheme 3
- With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(ref-232992) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233036) .
- Remove the 7 pin-type retainers and the RH splash shield.
- Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt and the CKP sensor. To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Removal
- Retrieve the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration retrieval steps of the Programmable Module Installation procedure. For additional information, refer to «MODULE CONFIGURATION»(ref-233032) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233036) .
- Remove the cowl panel grille. For additional information, refer to «FRONT END BODY PANELS»(ref-233046) .
- Disconnect the 3 PCM electrical connectors.
- Remove the bolt and the PCM.
Installation
- Install the PCM and the bolt. Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
- Connect the 3 PCM electrical connectors.
- Install the cowl panel grille. For additional information, refer to «FRONT END BODY PANELS»(ref-233046) .
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233036) .
- Restore the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration restore steps of the Programmable Module Installation procedure. For additional information, refer to «MODULE CONFIGURATION»(ref-233032) .
- Reprogram the passive anti-theft system (PATS). Carry out the Key Programming Using Two Programmed Keys procedure. For additional information, refer to «ANTI-THEFT - PATS»(ref-233050) .
- Carry out the Transaxle Drive Cycle Test. For additional information, refer to «AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE - 6 SPEED»(ref-233010) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233036) .
- Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the 2 screws and the MAF sensor. To install, tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(ref-232992) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233036) .
- Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor (CMS) electrical connector.
- Using the special tool, remove the CMS from the exhaust and discard. To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the CMS.

- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(ref-232992) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-233036) .
- Position the knock sensor (KS) heat shield aside.
- Disconnect the KS electrical connector.
- Remove the bolt and the KS. To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
