Seat belt buckle switch taskThe left front seat belt buckle restraint systems switch (S68/3) and front right (S68/4) monitor the wearing of the three-point seat belt on the driver's and front passenger's seat. Rear Sidebag - LocationThe rear sidebags and the left and right rear sidebag detonators (R12/11, R12/12) are installed along the rear side panels near the wheel wells.
Rear Sidebag - TaskThe left/right rear sidebag serves to protect rear seat occupants from upper body and head injuries in the event of a side-impact collision affecting the door, B-pillar or C-pillar areas. Each rear sidebag is deployed simultaneously with the respective front sidebag and the windowbag.
Rear Sidebag - DesignThe rear sidebag modules consist of an inflator, a detonator and an airbag. The airbags are made of an uncoated and recyclable polyamide fabric and have a volume of 16 liters when inflated.
