Function

In the fresh air mode ( not burning) the fresh air flap (2) is open and the recirculated air flap (3) closed. Fresh air is sucked into the heater/ air conditioning housing by the blower

If the pushbutton control module (N18, N19, N22) is switched over to recirculated air, the vacuum element (5) and the linkage (4) close the fresh air flap (2) and simultaneously open the recirculated air flap (3). Air is sucked out of the vehicle passenger compartment into the heater/air conditioning housing by the blower.

Function with HEAT

The system switches over automatically from recirculated air to fresh air

  1. after 5 minutes.

Function with air conditioning (Tempmatic)

The system switches over automatically from recirculated air to fresh air

  1. After 30 minutes at outdoor temperature above approx. 5° C
  2. After 5 minutes at outdoor temperature below approx. 5 °C
  3. After 5 minutes when is selected.

At outdoor temperatures above 26° C the system switches over to recirculated air automatically. The system switches back to fresh air automatically after approx. 30 minutes depending on the difference between the passenger compartment temperature and temperature set.

Function with automatic air conditioning (automatic A/C)

The system switches over automatically from recirculated air to fresh air

  1. After 30 minutes at outdoor temperature above approx. 5° C
  2. After 5 minutes at outdoor temperature below approx. 5 °C
  3. After 5 minutes when is selected.

At outdoor temperatures above 26° C the system switches over to recirculated air automatically. After approx. 30 minutes the system switches automatically to 80 % recirculated air or to fresh air depending on the difference between the passenger compartment temperature and temperature set.

Automatic switchover is possible only at temperature above 20° C.

The system can also be switched over to recirculated air automatically by the smog sensor (B31).
