REAR VIEW MIRRORS

The rear view mirrors consist of the following components

  1. exterior rear view mirrors
  2. exterior mirror control switch
  3. interior rear view mirror

The exterior rear view mirrors are adjusted manually or by the exterior mirror control switch.

Scheme 1: INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION
  1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
  2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.
  3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
  4. If the concern is not visually evident, determine the symptom and proceed to the «TROUBLESHOOTING INDEX-POWER MIRRORS»(ref-154803-S19530611982005030700000) .

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the front door trim panel. For additional information, refer to «FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-154860-S08267650862005021400000) .
  3. Remove the front door sail panel. If equipped, disconnect the speaker electrical connector.
  4. Remove the exterior rear view mirror. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the screws. Remove the exterior rear view mirror. Feed the power mirror wiring through the opening in the front door.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
