Inspect warning lights by turning on ignition with engine off and parking brake on. Check and repair any warning light that does not come on with ignition.

BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
Light comes on with parking brake on. If light remains on with parking brake off, check fluid.
SEAT BELT WARNING
When ignition is turned on, light and beeper will go on for about 6 seconds or until driver's belt is locked.
CHARGING SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
CHARGE light indicates a malfunction of either alternator or electrical wiring system.
MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT
CHECK light warns of a problem in engine electrical system.
HAZARD WARNING LIGHT
Light flashes with hazard warning lights on.
HOLD INDICATOR LIGHT
Light comes on when HOLD mode is selected. This stops automatic speed change operation. If HOLD light flashes, transmission has an electrical problem. Continued operation under these conditions could cause transmission damage.
KEY REMINDER WARNING
A beeper sounds if key is left in ignition switch and door is opened.
4-WHEEL STEERING WARNING LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
4WS light indicates a malfunction or other abnormal condition in 4-wheel steering system.
ANTI-LOCK SYSTEM INDICATOR (IF EQUIPPED)
Light comes on when ignition is turned on and stays on until control unit determines that all components are functioning correctly. Control unit will then turn light off.
SECURITY INDICATOR (IF EQUIPPED)
Light comes on when theft-deterrent system is armed.
DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHT
DOOR light comes on when ignition switch is in ON position and not all doors are securely closed.
CRUISE MAIN INDICATOR & SWITCH (IF EQUIPPED)
Activate cruise control and turn on indicator light by pushing top of light. Turn off cruise control and light by pushing bottom of light.
LOW FUEL WARNING LIGHT
Illuminated FUEL light indicates fuel tank is nearly empty.
ENGINE OIL PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT
Light indicates low oil pressure. If light comes on during vehicle operation, check engine oil level and add fluid as necessary. If light remains on, service immediately. DO NOT run engine if oil pressure is low. Extensive engine damage could result.
OVERDRIVE INDICATOR (IF EQUIPPED)
Indicator indicates overdrive is operating.
BRAKE & TAILLIGHT WARNING LIGHT
REAR light indicates one or more brake lights or taillights is burned out.
TURBO WARNING LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
Indicates that turbo is operating. If flashing, warns of a malfunction in the turbo system.
SHIFT WARNING LIGHT (IF EQUIPPED)
Indicates optimum shift point for manual transmission vehicles.
DEFOG WARNING LIGHT
Indicates that rear window defogger in on.
LOW WASHER FLUID WARNING (IF EQUIPPED)
Indicates windshield washer fluid reservoir is nearly empty.
GLOW PLUG INDICATOR LIGHT (DIESEL)
Indicates that glow plugs are in warm-up cycle.
SEDIMENT WARNING LIGHT (DIESEL)
Indicates fuel sediment build up in the sedimentor. Filter system must be serviced.
COOLANT LEVEL WARNING (DIESEL)
Indicates that coolant level is low. Check fluid level immediately as engine damage may result.
