Scheme 311: Removal & Installation (Mazda6)
WARNINGFuel line spills and leakage are dangerous. Fuel can ignite and cause serious injuries or death and damage. Fuel can also irritate skin and eyes. To prevent this, do not damage the sealing surface of the fuel pump unit when removing or installing.
CAUTIONDisconnecting/connecting the quick release connector without cleaning it may possibly cause damage to the fuel pipe and quick release connector. Always clean the quick release connector joint area before disconnecting/connecting using a cloth or soft brush, and make sure that it is free of foreign material.
  1. Relieve the system pressure. Refer to «FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE»(ref-151901-S29954760902003010900000).
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the cruise actuator with the harness and cable connected.
  4. Removefuel pump assembly in the order indicated in (Scheme 311).
  5. Remove fuel filter from fuel pump assembly.
  6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  7. Check for fuel leaks.

  1. Relieve the system pressure. Refer to «FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE»(ref-151901-S29954760902003010900000)
  2. Fuel filter is located inside left frame rail, below cab. Disconnect the push-connect and hairpin clip ("R" clip) fittings.
  3. Remove the filter from the bracket.
  4. Install in reverse order of removal.
