Engine Controls - Removal, Overhaul & Installation: Maintenance Mazda MX-5 NB

FUEL PUMP SHUTOFF SWITCH RESET INSTRUCTIONS (B2500, B3000 & B4000)

WARNINGIf you see or smell gasoline at any time other than during fueling, do not reset the inertia fuel shutoff (IFS) switch.
  1. Turn key off.
  2. Check for fuel leaks in the engine compartment.
  3. If no leak is apparent, reset the IFS switch by pushing the reset button on the top of the switch (located behind the RH interior trim panel). NOTE: In the closed position, the button can be depressed an additional 1.57 mm (1/16 inch) against a spring.
  4. Turn key to on or start position for a few seconds, then off again.
  5. Check for leaking fuel.
