FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Scheme 1

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min. or more .
3. Remove the seat belt anchor. (Passenger's seat only). See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
4. Remove in the order indicated in the table/figure. REMOVING/INSTALLING FRONT SEAT Component/Step No. Component Description 1 Side Air Bag Module Connector 2 Buckle Switch Connector 3 Front Seat
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Seat Weight Sensor Installation Note

1. Install the seat weight sensor to the slide adjusters and temporarily tighten the four nuts.
2. Tighten nuts A (both right and left) at the same time to the specified tightening torque.
3. Tighten nuts B (both right and left) at the same time to the specified tightening torque.
4. Install the seat under bracket to the seat weight sensor and temporarily tighten the four nuts.
5. Tighten nuts C (both right and left) at the same time to the specified tightening torque.
6. Tighten nuts D (both right and left) at the same time to the specified tightening torque.

1. Disconnect the front tilt motor connector.
2. Inspect the front tilt motor operation when B+ is applied to the terminals as shown. If not as specified, replace the seat cushion frame.

1. Disconnect the rear tilt motor connector.
2. Inspect the rear tilt motor operation when B+ is applied to the terminals as shown. If not as specified, replace the seat cushion frame.

1. Disconnect the slide motor connector.
2. Inspect the slide motor operation when B+ is applied to the terminals as shown. If not as specified, replace the seat cushion frame.

1. Disconnect the recliner motor connector.
2. Inspect the recliner motor operation when B+ is applied to the terminal as shown. If not as specified, replace the seat cushion frame.

Scheme 10

1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector.
2. Remove the seat back trim. (See «FRONT SEAT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY»(ref-178059-S32856511702005061000000) .)
3. Disconnect the recliner motor connector.
4. Remove the seat cushion trim. (See «FRONT SEAT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY»(ref-178059-S32856511702005061000000) .)
5. Disconnect the rear tilt motor connector.
6. Inspect for continuity between the power seat switch, recliner motor connector, and rear tilt motor connector terminals using an ohmmeter. If not as specified, replace the power seat switch.

1. Place the buckle in the pocket in the cushion.
2. Slide the seat to the rear most position.
3. Pull the recliner lever and lower the seat back forward.
4. Lift and hold the seat-anchor bar and lift the entire seat up and forward.
5. Remove the second-row seat.

1. Set the seat's strikers on the front floor anchors.
2. Supporting the seat with your hands, slowly lower the seat back rearwards to lock it in place.
3. Raise the recliner lever and raise the seat back upright.
4. Inspect the seat to ensure it is firmly locked in place.

1. Disassemble in the order indicated in the figure.
2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

Scheme 16

2. Remove the front floor covering. (See FRONT FLOOR COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Remove in the order indicated in the figure.
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.

1. Remove the headrests.
2. Remove the bolt. (LH)
3. Stow the third-row seat.
4. Open the cover (LH).
5. Remove the bolts and then remove the third-row seat.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 19

1. Remove the third-row seat.
2. Remove the rear side trim. (See REAR SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
3. Remove the third-row seat belt lower anchor.
4. Remove in the order indicated in the figure.
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 20

1. Remove the rear side trim. (See REAR SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
2. Remove the nuts and then remove the striker.
3. Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 21

1. Disassemble in the order indicated in the figure.
2. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.
