JACKING & HOISTING

Except B2300, B2500, B3000, B4000 & Tribute

For front jacking, place floor jack pad under center of front crossmember. For rear jacking, place floor jack pad under rear differential (Miata) or under center of rear crossmember (all others). see scheme 1

Place lift blocks on reinforced support points of side body panel, between front and rear wheels. see scheme 1 Jack stands may also be placed at these points.

Points designated on outline of body were specifically designed to facilitate use of vehicle's own jack. Jacking points are indicated by circular dots on outline of body. see scheme 1

Miata

CAUTIONAdjust castor before adjusting front camber.
  1. Camber is adjusted by turning front and rear adjusting cam bolts at lower control arm. Loosen left and right cam adjusting lock nuts. To increase camber on left side, turn front adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise or rear adjusting cam bolt clockwise. To decrease camber on left side, turn front adjusting cam bolt clockwise or rear adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise.
  2. To increase camber on right side, turn front adjusting cam bolt clockwise or rear adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise. To decrease camber on right side, turn front adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise or rear adjusting cam bolt clockwise. Tighten lock nuts to specification. Millenia

  1. Camber is adjusted by turning adjusting cam bolt at upper lateral link. Loosen left and right adjusting cam lock nuts. To increase camber on left side, turn adjusting cam bolt clockwise. To decrease camber on left side, turn adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise.
  2. To increase camber on right side, turn adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise. To decrease camber on right side, turn adjusting cam bolt clockwise. Tighten lock nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-99217-S11045006212001062900000) .

MPV

Raise and support front of vehicle. Replace existing upper strut-to-knuckle bolt with camber adjuster bolt. (Scheme 1) Adjust camber by turning adjuster bolt to specification. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS table.

Protege, Tribute & 626

Raise and support front of vehicle. Remove upper strut-to-body nuts. Push strut mounting block downward, then turn to desired position. For Protege and 626 (Scheme 2) For Tribute (Scheme 3) Reinstall and tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. Ensure alignment is correct. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS table.

CAUTIONAdjust rear toe-in before adjusting rear camber.
  1. Camber is adjusted by turning front and rear adjusting cam bolts at lower control arm. Loosen left and right cam adjusting lock nuts. To increase camber on left side, turn front adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise or rear cam clockwise. To decrease camber on left side, turn front adjusting cam bolt clockwise or rear cam counterclockwise.
  2. To increase camber on right side, turn front cam clockwise or rear adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise. To decrease camber on right side, turn front adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise or rear cam clockwise. Tighten lock nuts to specification.   1. Caster is adjusted by turning front and/or rear adjusting cam bolts at lower control arm. Loosen left and right cam adjusting lock nuts. To increase caster on left side, turn front and/or rear adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise. To decrease caster on left side, turn front and/or rear adjusting cam bolt clockwise.
  2. To increase caster on right side, turn front and/or rear adjusting cam bolt clockwise. To decrease caster on right side, turn front and/or rear adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise. Tighten lock nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-99217-S11045006212001062900000) .

Caster is not adjustable. If caster is out of adjustment, check and replace suspension components as necessary.

Raise and support front of vehicle. Remove upper strut-to-body nuts. Push strut mounting block downward, and turn to position "A". (Scheme 4) DO NOT turn to any other position or caster and camber will be out of specification. Reinstall and tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS.

Caster is adjusted same as camber. See CAMBER ADJUSTMENT .

Loosen left and right tie rod lock nuts or lateral link lock nuts. Turn left and right tie rod sleeve or adjustment link until toe-in is within specification. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS table.

  1. Toe-in is adjusted by turning front and/or rear adjusting cam bolts at lower control arm. To increase toe-in on left side, turn front and/or rear adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise. To decrease toe-in on left side, turn front and/or rear adjusting cam bolt clockwise.
  2. To increase toe-in on right side, turn front and/or rear adjusting cam bolt clockwise. To decrease toe-in on right side, turn front and/or rear adjusting cam bolt counterclockwise. Tighten lock nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-99217-S11045006212001062900000) .

Protege & 626

Toe-in is adjusted by turning adjusting cam bolt at lateral link.

Tribute

Loosen rear suspension trailing arm bushing bolts on left and right side of vehicle. Turn adjusting cams simultaneously until toe is within specification. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS table. Tighten rear suspension trailing arm bushing bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
