FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

| CAUTION | After removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. If the slider lever is operated, the left and right slide positions will deviate, and the slide adjuster may be damaged after the front seat is installed. Verify that there are no malfunctions in the sliding mechanism after installing a front seat. When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean rag so as not to damage or soil the seat. When the passenger's seat is removed, perform the seat weight sensor inspection using the M-MDS after installing the passenger's seat. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR INSPECTION .) When the passenger's seat is replaced with a new one, perform the seat weight sensor calibration using the M-MDS. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CALIBRATION .) |
Scheme 15
- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for more than 1 minute.
- Remove the seat belt anchor, (passenger's side) (See «FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375441-S36111913702010102800000) .)
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
FRONT SEAT BACK TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more.
- Disconnect the seat warmer module connector.
- Remove the following parts: Front seat (See «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375390-S38320566432010102800000) .) Front seat side cover (See «FRONT SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375390-S36697273762010102800000) .) Front seat front cover (See «FRONT SEAT FRONT COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375390-S08790449182010102800000) .) Front seat cushion (See «FRONT SEAT CUSHION TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375390-S42332670052010102800000) .)
- Remove the headrest.
- Slide hook A in the direction of arrow (1), (2), (3) shown in the illustration to detach it from hook B.
- Open the fastener.
- Remove the clip C from the front seat back frame in the direction of arrow (4), (5) shown in the illustration.
- Remove the nut. then remove the holder bracket.
- Remove the clip D then remove the lumber support lever.
- Partially peal back the front seat back trim, release the pole guide tabs in the direction of arrow (6) shown in the illustration, then pull the pole guide out in the direction of arrow (7).
- Cut the bands securing the seat warmer module wiring harness and side air bag module wiring harness.
- Remove the front seat back trim and the front seat back pad as a single unit from the front seat back frame by pulling them in the direction of the arrow.
- Partially peal back the seat back trim from the seat back pad, remove rings C and velcro in the order of (8), (9), (10) shown in the illustration, then remove the seat back trim.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

- Remove the front seat side cover. (See «FRONT SEAT SIDE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375390-S36697273762010102800000) .)
- Remove the front seat front cover. (See «FRONT SEAT FRONT COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-375390-S08790449182010102800000) .)
- Disconnect the seat warmer connector.
- Cut the band securing the seat warmer module wiring harness.
- Remove the bolts then remove the front seat cushion component.
- Detach hook A.
- Detach hook B and C in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
- Detach hook D in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration then remove the front seat cushion trim and front seat cushion pad as a single unit from the front seat cushion frame.
- Remove rings C and velcro in the order of (1), (2), and (3) as shown in the illustration, then remove the seat cushion trim from the seat cushion pad in the direction of the arrow shown in the illustration.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Pull the power seat switch knobs in the direction of arrow, while remove the hooks.
- Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (1), shown in the illustration to disengage the hooks and clips.
- Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (2), (3) shown in the illustration to disengage the hook and tab.
- Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (4) shown in the illustration to disengage the hooks.
- Remove the front seat side cover.
- Disconnect the seat position memory switch connector.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Remove the outer lift lever cover in the direction of arrow (1), (2) shown in the illustration to disengage the tab and hook.
- Remove the snap ring.
- Operate the lift lever in the direction of arrow (3) shown in the illustration.
- Using a flathead screwdriver, hold the spring and return the lift lever a bit to pull it up in the order of (4), (5) shown in the illustration.
- After operating the recliner knob in the upward direction (6), cut the area indicated in the figure, then remove the recliner knob in the direction of arrow (7).
- Remove the screw.
- Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (8), (9) shown in the illustration to disengage the hook and tab.
- Pull the front seat side cover in the order of (10), (11) shown in the illustration to disengage the hooks and tab.
- Remove the front seat side cover.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 44: Power Seat Switch Wiring Harness Removal Note
- Remove the power seat switch wiring harness from the hook A and B. CAUTION: The power seat switch wiring harness is clamped at the hook A, B and the marks by the green tape on the power seat switch wiring harness. While actual work, the harness is as blind location but you can move the power seat switch wiring harness from the hook A, B easily by pulling to backward.

- After installing the front seat side cover, install the power seat switch wiring harness to hooks A and B and the marks by the green tape on the power seat switch wiring harness shown in the illustration. WARNING: After installing the front seat side cover, install the power seat switch wiring harness to hooks A and B securely. If the wiring harness is caught between the frame, the wiring harness insulation could be damaged which could cause the power seat to operate incorrectly and result in an accident.
