| CAUTION | When the transaxle is installed, do not suspend the engine. Otherwise, the SST installation area of the cylinder head may be damaged due to excess weight. Only suspend the engine after separating the engine and transaxle. Applying excessive force (force of 100 N {10.2 kgf, 22.5 lbf} or more) to the electric variable valve timing motor/driver may cause a malfunction. When servicing, be careful not to apply excessive force to the electric variable valve timing motor/driver using other parts or tools. |

- To enable to install the SST, disconnect the clip shown in the figure and set the wiring harness aside.
- Install the SST using part number 99794 1025 or an M10 x 1.25, length 25 mm {0.98 in} bolt as shown in the figure. (Scheme 209): Identifying Intake Manifold And Clip Engine front side (Scheme 210): Installing SST Into Intake Manifold Installation Hole Engine rear side Tightening torque 38-51 N.m {3.9-5.2 kgf.m, 29-37 ft.lbf} (Scheme 211): Installing SST (303-050) Into Vacuum Pump
- Engage the hook for the SST (49 L017 5A0) to the SST (49 UN30 3050). (Scheme 212): Engaging Hook For SST (49 L017 5A0) To SST (49 UN30 3050)
- To ensure the safety of the work (control engine and transaxle sway), set a hoist as shown in the figure. CAUTION: Do not lift up the engine. (Scheme 213): Hoisting Engine And Transaxle
- Remove the insulator shown in the figure.
- Remove the exhaust system. (See «EXHAUST SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-615409-S05941657582014051000000) ).
- Remove the exhaust manifold bracket in the order shown in the figure. (Scheme 214): Identifying Insulator, Mounting Nut And Bolt With Torque Specification MTX (Scheme 215): Identifying Exhaust Manifold Bracket To Cylinder Block Mounting Bolts Tightening Sequence ATX NOTE: Install in the reverse order of removal when installing the bracket. Tightening torque 38-51 N.m {3.9-5.2 kgf.m, 29-37 ft.lbf}
- Remove the bracket No.1 (drive shaft bracket). (See «FRONT DRIVE SHAFT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-615442-S19145957892014051000000) ).
- Remove the transfer bracket and transfer. (AWD) (See «TRANSFER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FW6AX-EL]»(ref-615437-S21739154882014051000000) ).

- Fix the drive plate using the crankshaft pulley lock bolt. (ATX)
- Remove the torque converter installation nut from the starter installation hole. (See «AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FW6A-EL] (2WD)»(ref-615418-S02210776302014051000000) ). (See «AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FW6AX-EL] (AWD)»(ref-615418-S14215775662014051000000) ).

- Remove the generator. (See «GENERATOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-615412-S10522659032014051000000) ).
- Remove the intake-air system. (See «INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-615404-S24638618012014051000000) ).
- Remove the fuel injectors. (See «FUEL INJECTOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-615403-S20135446312014051000000) ).
- Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. (See «CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 2.0]»(ref-615396-S04712573482014051000000) ).
- Remove the vacuum pump. (See «VACUUM PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-615413-S40147185192014051000000) ).

- Remove the wiring harness bracket shown in the figure.
- Remove the emission harness.

- Remove the clutch cover and clutch disc. (MTX) (See «CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R]»(ref-615414-S41576897522014051000000) ).
- Remove in the order indicated in the table. (Scheme 217): Identifying Electric Variable Valve Timing Motor/Driver, Wiring Harness Bracket And Bolts With Torque Specifications
- Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly. (Scheme 218): Identifying Oil Filter Body, Exhaust Manifold Bracket And Oil Cooler Water Pipe Component With Torque Specifications

- Temporarily tighten the bolt (3) shown in the figure, insert the exhaust manifold bracket from the side, and temporarily install the exhaust manifold bracket.
- Temporarily tighten the bolt (1) shown in the figure.
- Temporarily tighten the bolt (2) shown in the figure.
