POSITION MEMORY CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

WARNINGHandling a front seat (with built-in side air bag) improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings before handling a front seat (with built-in side air bag). (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS .)
CAUTIONAfter removing a front seat, do not operate the slider lever. If the slider fever is operated, the left and right slide positions will deviate, and the slide adjuster may be damaged after the front seat is installed. Verify that there are no malfunctions in the sliding mechanism after installing a front seat. When performing the procedure with a front seat removed from the vehicle, perform the procedure on a clean rag so as not to damage or soil the seat.

  1. Operate the power seat switch and move the seat cushion forward and upward.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait 1 min or more.
  3. Remove the driver-side front seat. (See «FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-448628-S07156841762012012000000) .)
  4. Remove in the order indicated in the table. COMPONENTS REMOVAL ORDER CHART 1 Connector 2 Screw 3 Position memory control module
  5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Disconnect the position memory switch connector.
  2. Inspect for continuity between the power seat switch connector terminals. If not as specified, replace the position memory switch. (See «POSITION MEMORY SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-448628-S06609525022012012000000) .)

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the upper panel. (See «UPPER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-448656-S41204061692012012000000) .)
  3. Remove the decoration panel. (See «DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-448656-S12186936852012012000000) .)
  4. Remove the center panel lower. (See «CENTER PANEL LOWER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-448656-S13809786282012012000000) .)
  5. Squeeze the tabs of seat warmer switch and pull it outward to remove it.
  6. Remove the seat warmer switch.
  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.

  1. Inspect for continuity between the seat warmer switch terminal J, and connect terminal H using an ohmmeter. If not as specified, replace the seat warmer switch.
  2. Apply battery voltage to seat warmer switch terminal J, and connect terminal B to ground.
  3. Seat warmer switch to Lo or Hi position.
  4. Verify that the LED illuminates. If there is arty malfunction, replace the seat warmer switch.
  5. Apply battery voltage to seat warmer switch terminal F, and connect terminal D to ground.
  6. Verify that the LED illuminates. If there is any malfunction, replace the seat warmer switch.
