REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
| WARNING | When battery cables are connected, touching the vehicle body with starter terminal B will generate sparks. This can cause personal injury, fire, and damage to electrical components. Be sure to disconnect the battery before performing the following operation. |
Note. On models with anti-theft system, obtain code number and deactivate audio anti-theft system before disconnecting battery.
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner.
- Remove the under cover.
- Remove the clutch release cylinder.
- Remove components as numbered in the illustration. Numbers in parenthesis reference numbers in the illustration. Terminal "B" wire (1), terminal "S" wire (2) and starter (3). (Scheme 6)
- Install in the reverse order of removal. Tighten starter bolts to specifications. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-169146-S33150156212004113000000).

- Remove the battery and battery tray.
- Remove the air cleaner.
- Disconnect the selector cable and bracket from transaxle.
- Remove components as numbered in the illustration. Numbers in parenthesis reference numbers in the illustration. Terminal "B" wire (1), terminal "S" wire (2) and starter (3). (Scheme 7)
- Install in the reverse order of removal. Tighten starter bolts to specifications. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-169146-S33150156212004113000000).
