FRONT SEAT DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY

| CAUTION | For vehicles with the two-step deployment air bag system, if any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor calibration using the M-MDS. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR CALIBRATION .) Replacement with a new seat weight sensor Replacement with a new seat weight sensor control module Replacement with new passenger-side seat parts Disassembly of the passenger-side seat For vehicles with the two-step deployment air bag system, if any of the following work is performed, perform the seat weight sensor inspection using the M-MDS. (See SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR INSPECTION .) Removal of the passenger-side seat Loosening and retightening of passenger's seat fixing bolts |
- Disassemble in the order indicated in the table.
- Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly.

- Remove the covers.
- Remove the bolts, then remove the second-row seat.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Raise the seat cushion.
- Lay the seat on its side with the recliner lever facing upward.
- While pushing the recliner lever in the direction of the arrow, remove the screw.
- Remove the side cover clips from the seat cushion frame using the fastener remover.
- Put the seat in the Step 1 condition.
- Remove the recliner lever clip using the following procedure. CAUTION: Perform the following procedures while keeping the side cover lifted. The side cover may be damaged when it is lifted up. Insert a hand into the position indicated in the figure and lift the side cover in the direction of the arrow. Insert a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver. Remove the clip which is attached to the recliner lever by pressing it in the direction of the arrow.
- Remove the recliner lever.

- Install the clip to the recliner lever as shown in the figure.

- Remove the floor covering installation fasteners. (See «FLOOR COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-292888-S12180065472008080600000) .)
- Remove the covers.
- Remove the bolts, then remove the third-row seat.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the front cup holder. (See «CENTER CONSOLE DISASSEMBLY/ASSEMBLY»(ref-292888-S40926604032008080600000) .)
- Remove in the order indicated in the table.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
