Scheme 487

Scheme 487: Preparation of Tools and Measuring Equipment
  1. Be sure that all necessary tools and measuring equipment are available before starting any work. (Scheme 487): Preparation Of Tools And Measuring Equipment

Scheme 488

Scheme 488: Special Service Tools
  1. Use special service tools or equivalent when they are required. (Scheme 488): Identifying Special Service Tools

Scheme 489

Scheme 489: Disassembly
  1. If the disassembly procedure is complex, requiring many parts to be disassembled, all parts should be marked in a place that will not affect their performance or external appearance and identified so that reassembly can be performed easily and efficiently. (Scheme 489): Identifying Components Disassembly Position

Scheme 490

Scheme 490: Inspection During Removal, Disassembly
  1. When removed, each part should be carefully inspected for malfunction, deformation, damage and other problems. (Scheme 490): Inspecting During Removal And Disassembly

Scheme 491

Scheme 491: Arrangement of Parts
  1. All disassembled parts should be carefully arranged for reassembly.
  2. Be sure to separate or otherwise identify the parts to be replaced from those that will be reused. (Scheme 491): Arrangement Of Parts

Scheme 492

Scheme 492: Cleaning of Parts
  1. All parts to be reused should be carefully and thoroughly cleaned in the appropriate method. WARNING: Using compressed air can cause dirt and other particles to fly out causing injury to the eyes. Wear protective eye wear whenever using compressed air. (Scheme 492): Cleaning Of Parts Using Compressed Air

Scheme 493

Scheme 493: Reassembly

Scheme 494

Scheme 494
  1. Standard values, such as torques and certain adjustments, must be strictly observed in the reassembly of all parts.
  2. If removed, the following parts should be replaced with new ones: Oil seals Gaskets O-rings Lockwashers Cotter pins Nylon nuts (Scheme 493): Measuring Standard Values, Such As Torques And Certain Adjustments
  3. Depending on location: Sealant and gaskets, or both, should be applied to specified locations. When sealant is applied, parts should be installed before sealant hardens to prevent leakage. Oil should be applied to the moving components of parts. Specified oil or grease should be applied at the prescribed locations (such as oil seals) before reassembly. (Scheme 494): Applying Sealant And Gaskets To Specified Locations

Scheme 495

Scheme 495: Adjustment
  1. Use suitable gauges and testers when making adjustments. (Scheme 495): Making Adjustments Using Suitable Gauges And Testers

Scheme 496

Scheme 496: Rubber Parts and Tubing
  1. Prevent gasoline or oil from getting on rubber parts or tubing. (Scheme 496): Preventing Gasoline Or Oil From Getting On Rubber Parts Or Tubing
