- Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube-to-valve cover fitting quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
- Remove the fuel injection pump noise insulator shield. Both sides
- Disconnect the 6 ignition coil-on-plug electrical connectors.
- NOTE: When removing the ignition coil-on-plugs, a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal. Remove the 6 bolts and the 6 ignition coil-on-plugs. To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb-in).
- Inspect the coil seals for rips, nicks or tears. Remove and discard any damaged coil seals. To install, slide the new coil seal onto the coil until it is fully seated at the top of the coil.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the inside of the ignition coil-on-plug boots before attaching to the spark plugs.

- Remove the 6 ignition coil-on-plugs. For additional information, refer to «IGNITION COIL-ON-PLUG - 3.5L GTDI»(ref-679425-S33630413222014121800000) .
- NOTE: Only use hand tools when removing or installing the spark plugs, or damage may occur to the cylinder head or spark plug. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material in the spark plug well before removing the spark plugs. Remove the 6 spark plugs. To install, tighten to 15 Nm (133 lb-in).
- Inspect the 6 spark plugs. For additional information, refer to ENGINE SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION .
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. Adjust the spark plug gap as necessary.
