Removal and Installation
Note. Do not remove the exterior mirror assembly when repairing an individual part. Individual components can be installed without removing the exterior mirror.
Scheme 38
- Remove the LH sail panel. Pull the sail panel outward to release the retaining clips. Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Disconnect the exterior mirror electrical connector.
- Remove the 2 exterior mirror nuts. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Remove the exterior mirror bolt. To install, tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
- Remove the exterior mirror.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. To install, make sure to align the sail panel retaining clips to the retaining clip holes in the door.
Removal
- Position the exterior mirror glass to the full upward and inward position.
- Remove the exterior mirror glass using a screwdriver to release the tabs starting at the lower outboard side of the mirror and continuing to the lower inboard tab. Remove the exterior mirror glass.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Installation
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Position the exterior mirror glass onto the exterior mirror motor.
- Place a hand against the back of the exterior mirror and a hand flat against the exterior mirror glass. Position the exterior mirror glass to the full lower inboard position and press the exterior mirror glass to fully seat the retaining tab onto the exterior mirror motor. Position the exterior mirror glass to the full lower outboard position and press the exterior mirror glass to fully seat the retaining tab onto the exterior mirror motor. Position the exterior mirror glass to the full upper outboard position and press the exterior mirror glass to fully seat the retaining tab onto the exterior mirror motor.

- Remove the 3 exterior mirror motor screws.
- Remove the exterior mirror motor. Disconnect the electrical connector.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Release the 4 exterior mirror cover retaining tabs.
- Remove the exterior mirror cover. Pull outward on the exterior mirror cover.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

PART NUMBER REFERENCE
- Remove the sail panel. Pull the sail panel outward to release the retaining clips. Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Depress the 2 locking tabs and remove the exterior mirror switch.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure. To install, make sure to align the sail panel retaining clips to the retaining clip holes in the body.
- Remove the wire cover.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Insert the Mirror Remover between the mirror mount and windshield bracket from the top.
- Release the mirror mount from the windshield bracket by pulling the Mirror Remover and mirror down and away from the windshield.
Scheme 43
- Slide the mirror mount over the windshield bracket from the top and adjust the mirror to the upward position.
- Quickly press the mirror assembly downward along the windshield until a click is felt. The click indicates the base is engaged to the windshield bracket.
- Connect the electrical connector and wire cover.
