- Remove the front seat restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the LH front seat restraint system electrical connector.
- Through the outboard side of the LH front seat, connect the front seat restraint system electrical connector.
- Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the LH safety canopy vehicle harness electrical connector.
- Connect the LH safety canopy electrical connector.
- Align the LH C-pillar trim panel hook to the opening in the sheet metal. The safety belt shoulder height adjuster and the C-pillar trim panel sliding insert must be at their most upward position of travel to aid installation.
- Position the LH C-pillar trim panel. With the hook aligned to the sheet metal, position the top of the C-pillar trim panel to the sheet metal. Make sure the safety belt shoulder height adjuster and the C-pillar panel sliding insert are at their most upward position of travel to aid installation. Align and slide down, engaging the front upper trim panel retainer. The C-pillar trim panel sliding insert circular recess must align to the safety belt guide bolt. Align and push in, engaging the front lower trim panel retainer.
- Push in on the C-pillar trim panel, seating the retainers.
- Remove the front seat restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the RH front seat restraint system electrical connector.
- From under the back of the RH front seat, connect the front seat restraint system electrical connector.
- Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the RH safety canopy vehicle harness electrical connector.
- Connect the RH safety canopy electrical connector.
- Align the RH C-pillar trim panel hook to the opening in the sheet metal. The safety belt shoulder height adjuster and the C-pillar trim panel sliding insert must be at their most upward position of travel to aid installation.
- Position the RH C-pillar trim panel. With the hook aligned to the sheet metal, position the top of the C-pillar trim panel to the sheet metal. Make sure the safety belt shoulder height adjuster and the C-pillar panel sliding insert are at their most upward position of travel to aid installation. Align and slide down, engaging the front upper trim panel retainer. The C-pillar trim panel sliding insert circular recess must align to the safety belt guide bolt. Align and push in, engaging the front lower trim panel retainer.
- Push in on the C-pillar trim panel, seating the retainers.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-193018) .
- Position the front seats rearward.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-193018) .
- Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
- Connect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.
- Close the glove compartment.
- Remove the restraint system diagnostic tools from the clockspring electrical connector at the top of the steering column.
- Connect the driver air bag module accessories electrical connector to the connector at the top of the clockspring.
- Connect the driver air bag module electrical connectors as noted during removal. Position the driver air bag module to the steering wheel.
- Install the two driver air bag module bolts (one shown).
- Install the two steering wheel back cover plugs (one shown).
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-193018) .
- With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-160399) .
- Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-160399) .

- Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301) and wait at least one minute. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-193018) .
- Deactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION»(ref-193029-S25975480472005092300000) .
- Remove the components in the order indicated in the following illustration.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the front seat restraint system electrical connector.
- Connect the front seat restraint system electrical connector.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-193018) .
- With the restraint system diagnostic tools installed at the remaining deployable devices, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-160399) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-193018) .
- Reactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION»(ref-193029-S25975480472005092300000) .
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-193018) .
- With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-160399) .
- Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-160399) .

- Move the seat to the most forward position.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301) and wait at least one minute. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-193018) .
- Remove the two front seat rear track bolt covers.
- Remove the two front seat rear track bolts.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.

- Tilt the seat forward and disconnect the electrical connectors.

- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the two front seat rear track bolts.
- Install the two front seat rear track bolt covers.

- Move the seat to the most rearward position.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301) and wait at least one minute. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY & CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-193018) .

- Fold both of the 40 percent seats up to the E-Z entry position.
- Remove the two side bolts (one shown).

- Remove the two rear bolts (one shown).

- Install the two side bolts.
- Fold both of the 40 percent seats back to the upright position.
