Normal Operation
Under normal operation the HomeLink(R) universal transmitter can be programmed to operate up to three garage doors, entry gates, security systems, and home or office lighting. Voltage is supplied to the module via circuit 705 (LG/OG). Circuit 1205 (BK) provides the module ground.
Battery voltage is supplied to the navigation system module through circuit 1001 (WH/YE). The accessory/delay relay supplies voltage to the navigation system module through circuit 1002 (BK/PK). Circuit 1205 (BK) provides the navigation system module ground.
The GPS antenna provides information from the GPS satellite system to the GPS receiver in the navigation system module. This information is used to calculate vehicle position and direction of travel.
The powertrain control module (PCM) supplies the vehicle speed signal (VSS) to the navigation system module through circuit 679 (GY/BK). The navigation system uses the VSS signal and the GPS antenna to accurately establish vehicle speed and position.
The navigation system module provides voice-assisted route guidance to the audio unit through circuits 1530 (LB) and 1531 (LG). The volume of the voice guidance is controlled by the audio unit.
The audio unit display is controlled by the navigation system module. Video color is provided through circuits 1534 (BK), 1535 (BK), and 1536 (BK). Circuit 1537 (RD) provides the color synchronization and circuit 1538 (YE/RD) is the video signal return.
The screen display of the audio unit for the audio and navigation system is controlled by the navigation system module. A map digital versatile disc (DVD) stored in the navigation system module sends route data to the audio unit through the video interface circuits.
The audible switch feedback settings are controlled by the audio unit. The notification can be set to all, touch screen, and none depending on user preference.
The navigation map disc is contained in the navigation system module. The accessory/delay relay supplies voltage to the navigation system module through circuit 1002 (BK/PK). Circuit 1205 (BK) provides the navigation system module ground.
The navigation system module communicates to the audio unit through circuits 3125 (RD/YE) and 3126 (TN/YE) using the controller area network (CAN) protocol. Battery voltage is supplied to the audio unit through circuit 1001 (WH/YE). Circuit 1002 (BK/PK) provides voltage to the audio unit with the key in the ON or ACC position. The audio unit ground is supplied through circuits 1203 (BK/LB) and 1204 (BK/OG).
The navigation system module receives a voltage signal from the digital transmission range (TR) sensor through circuit 140 (BK/PK) when the vehicle is placed in REVERSE. The navigation system module uses this information to verify the direction of the vehicle.
The navigation system microphone is integrated into the rear view mirror. Circuits 1196 (DG/WH) and 1197 (LG/BK) provide the microphone input from the rear view mirror to the navigation system module.
