NOTE: Do not remove the lock nut. Remove the 3 nuts, spring support reinforcement and shock absorber with coil spring. Remove the No. 1 suspension support from the shock absorber with coil spring. - TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING Install a new front suspension support No. 1 to the shock absorber with coil spring. Temporarily install the spring support reinforcement and shock absorber with coil spring with the 3 nuts. (Scheme 15): Locating Spring Support Reinforcement Nuts Temporarily install the shock absorber to the shock absorber bracket with the bolt and nut. HINT: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the bolt. (Scheme 16): Locating Shock Absorber Bracket Bolt And Nut
- TEMPORARILY INSTALL STEERING KNUCKLE LH Connect the front suspension upper arm LH to the steering knuckle LH. Temporarily install the nut. HINT: After stabilizing the suspension, tighten the nut.
- CONNECT FRONT SPEED SENSOR LH Connect the speed sensor wire with the bolt. Torque: 5.0 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) (Scheme 17): Locating Steering Knuckle LH Nut
- STABILIZE SUSPENSION Lower the vehicle. Press down on the vehicle several times to stabilize the suspension.
- TIGHTEN FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING Tighten the 3 nuts labeled A. Torque: 56 N*m (570 kgf*cm, 41 ft.*lbf) Fix the nut labeled C and tighten the bolt labeled B. Torque: 157 N*m (1,600 kgf*cm, 116 ft.*lbf) NOTE: Do not tighten nut labeled C.
- TIGHTEN STEERING KNUCKLE LH Tighten the nut. Torque: 87 N*m (890 kgf*cm, 64 ft.*lbf) Install a new clip.
- INSTALL FRONT WHEEL Install the wheel with the 5 nuts.
- INSTALL WHEEL HUB ORNAMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY Install the ornament with the 10 bolts. (Scheme 18): Locating Nuts And Bolt Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
- INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT Inspect and adjust the front wheel alignment (see «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-283147-S31307379082008041900000) ).

- DISPOSE OF FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY LH Fully extend the shock absorber piston rod, and clamp it in a vise at an angle. Using a drill or similar tool, gradually make a hole in area A and discharge the gas inside of absorber. CAUTION: As metal debris may be blown outward by the gas, you must: (Scheme 19): Identifying Hole Area Wear protective glasses. Cover the area being cut. NOTE: The gas is colorless, odorless and harmless.

Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously at a rate of 2 to 4 seconds per turn and take the torque reading on the fifth turn. Standard turning torque: 1.0 to 3.4 N*m (10 to 35 kgf*cm, 9 to 30 in.*lbf) (Scheme 21): Inspecting Front Upper Suspension Arm Assembly LH Check for any cracks or grease leaks on the ball joint dust cover.
