  1. PRECAUTION NOTE: After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work. Refer to «PRECAUTION [03/2012 - ]»(ref-602551-S11461672722014030500000).
  2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Remove the windshield wiper motor and link assembly. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - ]»(ref-602723-S18485877112014030500000).
  3. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012] - Step 9»(ref-602687-S03816836542014030500000)
  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012] - Step 33»(ref-602689-S14087581402014030500000)
  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system. Refer to «PRECAUTION [03/2012 - 07/2012]»(ref-602724-S22259792752014030500000). NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to «INITIALIZATION [03/2012 - 07/2012]»(ref-602551-S24591545042014030500000).
  6. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012] - Step 34»(ref-602689-S14087581402014030500000)
  7. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012] - Step 35»(ref-602689-S14087581402014030500000)
  8. REMOVE BATTERY. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012] - Step 36»(ref-602689-S14087581402014030500000)

  10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER BRACKET. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012] - Step 38»(ref-602689-S14087581402014030500000)
  11. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY Disconnect the starter connector. Turn back the terminal cap, remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire. Remove the 2 bolts and starter.
