PRECAUTION [03/2012 - 07/2012]

  1. PRECAUTION FOR DISCONNECTING CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE: When disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, initialize the following systems after the cable is reconnected: System Name See Procedure Parking Assist Monitor System Refer to «INITIALIZATION [03/2012 - 07/2012]»(ref-602551-S24591545042014030500000) Back Door Closer System Power Back Door System

PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING TECHSTREAM When using the Techstream to troubleshoot the engine immobiliser system: Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 while the engine switch is off, and turn a door courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5-second intervals until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.
  3. PRECAUTIONS FOR EACH FUNCTION Precautions for the key: The key is a precision instrument. Be sure to observe the following: Do not drop the key, subject it to strong shocks or bend it. Do not keep the key in a high temperature area for a long time. Do not get the key wet or wash it in an ultrasonic washer etc. Keep the key away from magnets or magnetized items during use. Do not disassemble the key except when replacing the battery. Do not place the key near objects that produce magnetic fields such as TVs, audio systems and electrical ranges, or electrical medical equipment such as low-frequency therapy instruments. Keep the key dry*. HINT: The key (for card type) battery compartment is not waterproof. If the key is dropped into water, or if drinking water etc. is spilled on the key, immediately remove the battery cover and dry the battery and terminals. Replace the battery if corroded. Do not disassemble the keys*. The mechanical key should only be used in an emergency, such as when the key battery is depleted*. *: Key (for Card Type) Precautions for the engine immobiliser system inspection: Make sure to carry the key. All registered keys for the vehicle should be available when repairing or diagnosing the engine immobiliser system.
  4. PRECAUTIONS FOR BATTERY Immediately after removing and reinstalling the battery, doors may not be unlocked by the smart access system with push-button start. In this case, lock and unlock the doors using the door control transmitter. Then, it will be possible to unlock doors using the smart access system with push-button start. When the battery is fully depleted and it is recharged using another vehicle battery, start the engine by performing the following: Move the shift lever to P. Turn the engine switch off, open and close the driver door once. Start the engine. When starting the engine after removing and installing the battery, open and close the driver door and wait 10 seconds before starting the system. HINT: If the engine does not start the first time after removing and installing the battery, the engine will start normally from the second time onward.
