- REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - 07/2012]»(ref-602553-S41961641652014030500000)
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Disconnect the 2 connectors. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration and disconnect the 2 connectors (A). Disconnect the 4 connectors (B). Remove the 2 nuts. Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration and disconnect the connector. Disengage the 2 claws and release the connector lock as shown in the illustration. Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration and disconnect the connector and remove the instrument panel junction block assembly.
- REMOVE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU See step 3
- REMOVE WIRING HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET Remove the bolt and wiring harness clamp bracket from the instrument panel junction block assembly.
- REMOVE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Press the claw of the junction block as shown in the illustration to release the lock. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Main Body ECU (Multiplex Network Body ECU) *2 Driver Side Junction Block *3 Protective Tape With the junction block lock released, insert a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape horizontally between the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and junction block. HINT: Use a screwdriver with a diameter of between 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) and 6.3 mm (0.248 in.) and a length of approximately 90 mm (3.54 in.). Using the screwdriver, carefully raise the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) up to the position where the connector becomes disengaged as shown in the illustration. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Protective Tape NOTE: Do not twist the screwdriver to raise the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). Raise the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) as shown by the arrow (1), and then pull it out as shown by the arrow (2) in the illustration. NOTE: Do not touch the ECU connector.

- INSTALL MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) NOTE: Make sure that no foreign objects get on the connecting surfaces. Do not touch the ECU connector. Insert the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) up to the position where it contacts the housing sidewall of the guide as shown in the illustration. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Housing sidewall *b Guide part HINT: Make sure to keep the angle 20o or more as shown in the illustration. Slide the guide of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) along the housing sidewall toward the junction block fuses as shown in the illustration. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Junction block fuses *a Housing sidewall *b Guide part Slide the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) so that it contacts side A as shown in the illustration. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Side A NOTE: Do not apply excessive force to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). While contacting the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) to side A of the junction block (point of rotation), rotate it downward as shown in the illustration. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Side A contact portion Press the push area until the claw engages to install the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Push Area NOTE: Make sure to press only the push area. Confirm the engagement of the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and junction block by listening for the lock sound. HINT: If a lock sound cannot be heard, visually check the lock part engagement. The engagement can also be confirmed if the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and junction block are flush.
- INSTALL WIRING HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET Install the wiring harness clamp bracket to the instrument panel junction block assembly with the bolt. Torque: 13 N*m (127 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf)
- INSTALL POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU See step 1
- INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY Engage the claw to connect the connector as shown in the illustration. Engage the 2 claws to lock the connector lock as shown in the illustration. Engage the claw to connect the connector as shown in the illustration. Install the instrument panel junction block assembly with the 2 nuts. Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf) Connect the 4 connectors (A). Engage the 2 claws to connect the 2 connectors (B). Connect the 2 connectors.
