3. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL (MANUAL TILT: See «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-170440) ) (POWER TILT & TELESCOPIC: See «OVERHAUL»(ref-209591-S40521614872005121000000) )
4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSY Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assy.
5. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER FRONT Disengage the 4 clips and remove the console panel upper front.
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel lower, then disconnect the connectors.

21. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY LOWER Remove the bolt < B > and the screw < D >. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assy. Disengage the 5 claws and remove the 4 clips and the instrument panel finish panel sub-assy lower. Disconnect the connectors.
22. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY Disengage the 4 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assy.
23. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSY Remove the 4 screws < E >. Pull out the combination meter assy, then disconnect the connectors.
24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSY LOWER NO.1 (See «REMOVAL & INSTALLATION»(ref-170440-S23901165912005011000000) )
25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See «REPLACEMENT»(ref-242882-S04285829632006081700000) )
26. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSY RH
27. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSY NO.2 Disengage the 3 claws, pull the instrument panel under cover sub-assy No.2 in the arrow direction, and remove it.
28. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSY Remove the 2 bolts < B > and the 2 screws, < D >. Pull the glove compartment door assy to the rear to remove it. Disconnect the connector.
29. REMOVE FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER LH Remove the 2 clips from the floor carpet cover center LH. Depress the edge of the floor carpet cover center LH around the claws to disengage the 2 claws below the floor carpet cover center LH. Slide the floor carpet cover center LH to the front of the vehicle, disengage the 2 claws from the instrument panel finish panel lower center at the floor carpet cover center LH. Remove the floor carpet cover center LH.

31. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER Remove the 7 screws < D >. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument panel finish panel lower center.

35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSY NO.1 Remove the screw < D > and nut < F >. Using a screwdriver, lever up the 2 claws on the body from inside of the register. Remove the instrument panel register assy No.1.
36. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSY LOWER NO.1 Using a screwdriver, lever up the 2 claws and on the body from inside of the register. Disengage the clip and remove the instrument panel register assy lower No.1.
37. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSY W/PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSY Remove the bolts and nuts (Scheme 20) Disconnect each of the clamps and the connectors. Pull the instrument panel safety pad to the rear and check that none of the wire harness is stuck in the body.
38. REMOVE SPEAKER HOLE COVER NO.1 (W/ MARK LEVINSON SPEAKER SYSTEM) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the speaker hole cover No.1.
39. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSY NO.1 Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument panel speaker panel sub-assy No.1.

46. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSY Remove the 4 screws < D > and the defroster nozzle assy.
47. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT NO.1 Remove the 4 screws < D > and the heater to register duct No.1.

49. REMOVE HEATER TO REGISTER CENTER SUB DUCT Remove the 2 screws < D > and the heater to register center sub duct.
50. REMOVE SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT NO.1 Remove the screw < D > and the side defroster nozzle duct No.1.

54. REMOVE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU (W/LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM) Remove the screw < D > and the network gateway ECU.
55. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL BRACKET SUB-ASSY CENTER Remove the screw < D > and the instrument panel bracket sub-assy center.

59. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE NO.2 Remove the 2 screws. Release the 18 clamps and remove the instrument panel wire No.2.

65. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSY W/PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSY Using a torque wrench, install the bolt < C >. Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf) Install the instrument panel safety pad sub-assy with the bolts and nuts.
66. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSY (See «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-170440) )

1. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY Disengage the 4 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assy.
2. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSY Remove the 4 screws. Pull out the combination meter assy, then disconnect the connectors.
3. REMOVE COMBINATION METER GLASS Disengage the 8 claws and remove the combination meter glass.

1. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX HOLE COVER Slide the front seat assy RH and LH forward. Slide the console box assy fully to the back end and remove the console box hole cover located on the side.
2. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX HOLE COVER NO.2
3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSY Separate the console box lock control cable assy from the console box assy. Keeping the console box assy pulled in the rear direction of the vehicle, remove the 6 bolts from the left and right sides. Disconnect each clamp and the connector. Remove the console box assy.
4. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CUP HOLDER Remove the console box cup holder.
5. REMOVE BOX SIDE PANEL NO.1 Disengage the 8 claws, and remove the box side panel No.1.
6. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX LOWER Remove the 6 screws. Disengage the 4 clips and the claw, and remove the RR console box lower.
7. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX LAMP SUB-ASSY Disconnect each of the clamp and the connectors. Remove the console box lamp sub-assy.
8. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX HOLDER CUP Remove the 5 screws and the rear console box cup holder.
9. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT Remove the 4 screws and the console upper panel garnish front.
10. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSY Remove the 6 screws and the console box register assy.
11. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX SUB-ASSY UPPER Remove the 4 screws. Remove the 2 screws. Disengage the 2 claws. Disengage the 2 claws, and remove the console box sub-assy upper.
12. REMOVE CONSOLE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK LEVER Remove the 2 screws and the console compartment door lock lever.
13. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH REAR Remove the 3 screws and the console upper panel garnish rear.
