INSTALLATION [01/2012 - ]

  1. INSTALL TOWING SOCKET ASSEMBLY Connect the 2 connectors. Install the socket with the 2 bolts. Torque: 19.5 N*m (199 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf)

  1. INSPECT TOWING CONVERTER RELAY Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. STANDARD VOLTAGE Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition K24-1(+B) - Body Ground Always 11 to 14 V K24-2(RTOT) - Body Ground Turn signal switch (right turn) Off --> On 0 V --> 11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute) K24-2(RTOT) - Body Ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V K24-2(RTOT) - Body Ground Turn signal (right turn) Off --> On while depressing brake pedal 0 V --> 11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute) K24-3(RTIN) - Body Ground Turn signal switch (right turn) Off --> On 0 V --> 11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute) K24-4(LTOT) - Body Ground Turn signal switch (left turn) Off --> On 0 V --> 11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute) K24-4(LTOT) - Body Ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V K24-4(LTOT) - Body Ground Turn signal (left turn) Off --> On while depressing brake pedal 0 V --> 11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute) K24-8(STIN) - Body Ground Brake pedal depressed 11 to 14 V K24-9(LTIN) - Body Ground Turn signal switch (left turn) Off --> On 0 V --> 11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute) If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness or towing converter relay. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. STANDARD RESISTANCE Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition K24-6(GND) - Body Ground Always Below 1 ohms If the result is not as specified, there may be a malfunction in the wire harness or towing converter relay.
  2. INSPECT TOWING CONVERTER RELAY (SUB BATT) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. STANDARD RESISTANCE Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 3 - 5 Battery voltage not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kohms or higher Battery voltage applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.
  3. INSPECT TOWING CONVERTER RELAY (TOW TAIL) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. STANDARD RESISTANCE Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 3 - 5 Battery voltage not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kohms or higher Battery voltage applied to terminals 1 and 2 Below 1 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.

  1. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY Refer to «REMOVAL [01/2012 - ]»(ref-603944-S21374264672014031100000)
  2. REMOVE REAR STEP COVER . Refer to «REMOVAL [01/2012 - ] - Step 8»(ref-603940-S16137486102014031100000)
  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH . Refer to «REMOVAL [01/2012 - ] - Step 9»(ref-603940-S16137486102014031100000)
  4. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT REAR SUPPORT PLATE . Refer to «REMOVAL [01/2012 - ] - Step 11»(ref-603940-S16137486102014031100000)
  5. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK . Refer to «REMOVAL [01/2012 - ] - Step 22»(ref-603940-S16137486102014031100000)
  6. REMOVE FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH . Refer to «REMOVAL [01/2012 - ] - Step 23»(ref-603940-S16137486102014031100000)
  7. REMOVE TOWING CONVERTER RELAY Disconnect the connector. Remove the bolt and relay.
  1. INSTALL TOWING CONVERTER RELAY Install the towing converter relay with the bolt. Torque: 15 N*m (153 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) Connect the connector.
  2. INSTALL FRONT QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY LH . Refer to «INSTALLATION [01/2012 - ] - Step 59»(ref-603940-S40439953512014031100000)
  3. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK . Refer to «INSTALLATION [01/2012 - ] - Step 61»(ref-603940-S40439953512014031100000)
  4. INSTALL REAR FLOOR MAT REAR SUPPORT PLATE . Refer to «INSTALLATION [01/2012 - ] - Step 72»(ref-603940-S40439953512014031100000)

  8. CHECK TOWING SOCKET OPERATION Turn the engine switch on (IG) and check the operation of the towing socket assembly.
