SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- FRONT POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION The driver seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical, variable and lumbar support adjustment functions. The passenger seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical and lumbar support adjustment functions. The memory call function uses the key ID code of the key to memorize and reproduce the appropriate driving position for each individual who possesses a master key or sub key.
- FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT The following functions are available. Component Function Seat slide motor Receives signal from front power seat switch, and slides seat forward and rearward. Seat reclining motor Receives signal from front power seat switch, and tilts and reclines seat. Seat front vertical motor Receives signal from front power seat switch, and raises and lowers front of seat cushion. Seat lifter motor Receives signal from front power seat switch, and raises and lowers seat cushion. Seat variable cushion motor Receives signal from seat variable cushion switch and varies length of driver side seat cushion. Lumbar support adjuster motor Activated based on signal from lumbar support switch. Adjusts lumbar support. Seat control switch Based on switches operated, seat adjuster signals are input into position control ECU and seat is adjusted accordingly. Seat memory switch When seat memory SET switch and seat memory switch are pressed simultaneously, signal is input to outer mirror control ECU and seat position is recorded. Then, when seat memory switch is pressed, signal is input to outer mirror control ECU and seat position changes according to memory.
- SYSTEM OPERATION The front power seat functions which can be adjusted with power seat motors and/or memorized are shown in the chart below. Then, either the seat position is stored in memory or a previously stored seat position is recalled.
DESCRIPTION
When a signal is input into the position control ECU, the ECU manages the signals received from the front power seat switch LH, and operates each motor. When 2 or more signals are input, the motors only operate when the signals are from the slide switch and reclining switch.

When the front power seat switch is operated, a command signal is sent to the position control ECU. The position control ECU then controls the appropriate seat motor as needed. The position control ECU is designed so that a malfunction of the seat memory system will not interfere with manual seat control.

When the seat memory SET switch and a seat memory switch (seat memory switch 1, seat memory switch 2 or seat memory switch 3) are pressed simultaneously, the outer mirror control ECU commands the position control ECU and switch through CAN communication to record each position value.

With the engine switch off and the driver door closed, press the transmitter lock or unlock switch while holding a seat memory switch (seat memory switch 1, seat memory switch 2 or seat memory switch 3). Doing so will register the transmitter recognition code into the seat memory switch that was pressed. After the registration is complete, the answer-back buzzer sounds.
When a door is unlocked, the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) sends a door unlock signal and key ID signal to the position control ECU and switch. When the position control ECU and switch receives the door unlock signal, it stores the key ID. When the driver door is opened, the memory call and memory command information of the stored key ID is sent to each driving position related control ECU. Each control ECU receives the memory commands and performs the memory call operation according to predetermined control timing values.
