SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. GENERAL The thin heater wires of the windshield deicer system are attached to the inside of the windshield glass and deice the windshield surface quickly. The indicator light illuminates while the system is operating. The system automatically turns off after approximately 15 minutes.
  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT Component Outline Deicer switch Located on the display and navigation module display*1 or multi-display*2, it detects deicer switch operation and transmits signals to the air conditioning amplifier through the CAN communication line. Deicer relay Receives windshield deicer activation request signals from the air conditioning amplifier and supplies power to the windshield deicer. Windshield deicer Receives power from the deicer relay and heats the windshield deicer wire. *1: w/ Navigation System *2: w/o Navigation System
  3. DESCRIPTION Function Outline Deice front window surface The deicer relay receives windshield deicer activation request signals from the air conditioning amplifier and supplies power to the windshield deicer. Receives power from the deicer relay and heats the windshield deicer wire.

DESCRIPTION

When the windshield deicer switch is turned on, a windshield deicer activation request signal is sent via the CAN communication line to the air conditioning amplifier. Then the air conditioning amplifier operates the windshield deicer. When the on signal from the switch is received, the deicer relay (DEICER) is operated for 15 minutes. Also, if the off signal from the switch is received within 15 minutes, the deicer relay (DEICER) operation is stopped.
