PRECAUTION

1. PRECAUTION FOR USING BATTERY DURING INSPECTION While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.
2. PRECAUTION FOR HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT If even a thin film of oil is left on the surface of the halogen light, its service life will be shortened because the light will burn at a higher temperature. Handle any halogen light with great care. Dropping, hitting or damaging the bulb, in any way, may result in it exploding and shattering because the internal pressure is high. Always prepare a new bulb for immediate replacement. While replacing the bulb, the lens may attract dust and moisture if removed from the vehicle for too long. Always use a bulb of the same wattage for replacement. Firmly reinstall the socket after bulb replacement. The lens may become cloudy or the light cavity may fill water through the gaps around the socket.

CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS

1. CUSTOMIZING FUNCTION WITH TECHSTREAM (REFERENCE) NOTE: When the customer requests a change in a function, first make sure that the function can be customized. Be sure to make a note of the current settings before customizing. When troubleshooting a function, first make sure that the function is set to the default setting. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Customize Setting. Select the setting by referring to the table below. ILLUMINATED ENTRY Display Default Content Setting I/L when ACC OFF ON Function to illuminate the interior light when the engine switch is turned from on (IG) or on (ACC) to off. ON/OFF Lighting Time 15s Function to change the lighting time after closing the door. (It will quickly fade out in the case of turning the engine switch on (IG)). 7.5s/15s/30s Light Control ON Function to illuminate the door inside handle illumination light when the engine switch is on (IG) and the shift lever is not in P. ON/OFF I/L ON W/Door Key Unlock ON Function to illuminate the interior light, etc. when the door is unlocked with a transmitter, door key or door lock control switch. ON/OFF Mirr-Foot-Lgt Approached ON Function to illuminate the door mirror foot light when the transmitter enters the key ID detection area. ON/OFF Mirr-Foot-Lgt Unlocked ON Function to illuminate the door mirror foot light when unlocking the doors with the transmitter. ON/OFF Mirr-Foot-Lgt w/Master SW ON Function to illuminate the door mirror foot light when unlocking the doors with the transmitter. ON/OFF Mirror Foot Light Time 15s Door mirror foot light illumination duration. 0s/7.5s/15s/30s Room Light when Aprchd ON Dome light illumination (when key enters key ID detection area). ON/OFF LIGHT CONTROL Display Default Content Setting Light Auto OFF Delay 30s Function to illuminate the headlight for a certain period of time after closing all the doors with the engine switch turned from on (IG) to off under the condition that the headlights illuminate with the light control switch at head or AUTO. OFF/30s/60s/90s Sensitivity NORMAL Function to adjust the sensitivity of the lighting illumination*1. Light2/Light1/Normal/Dark1/Dark2 Disp Ex ON Sen NORMAL Changes the brightness when the lights such as the combination meter indicator light, A/C indicator light, and clock light dim. Refer to the illumination*2. LIGHT2/LIGHT1/NORMAL/DARK1/DARK2 Disp Ex OFF Sen NORMAL Adjusts the brightness when lights such as the combination meter indicator light, A/C indicator light and clock light brighten. Refer to illumination*3. LIGHT2/LIGHT1/NORMAL/DARK1/DARK2 DRL Function ON DRL control. ON/OFF HINT: The sensitivity adjustment may be difficult to confirm. Check by driving the vehicle of the customer. Door linked map light and personal light illumination control Mode 1: When door is opened, map light of opened door illuminates, or personal light illuminates Mode 2: When door is opened, all map lights and personal lights illuminate Mode 3: Map lights and personal lights are not linked to doors To change modes, press the map light assembly DOOR and on switch simultaneously, and then turn the engine switch from off to on (IG). Each engine switch off to on (IG) operation will change the mode (Mode 1 --> Mode 2 --> Mode 3 --> Mode 1). HINT: After changing modes, the map light responds by blinking as follows: Mode 1: once; Mode 2: twice; Mode 3: three times.

FAIL-SAFE CHART

1. AFS ECU If the AFS ECU detects a malfunction in the automatic headlight beam level control system or intelligent AFS, it will take the actions indicated in the table below. Trouble Area Leveling Fail-safe Control Swivel Fail-safe Control AFS OFF Indicator Light Headlight Swivel Motor Malfunction Continues to control with both headlight leveling motors lower than the current position by 0.7°. Stops the malfunctioning swivel motor at the current position. Flash Steering Angle Sensor Signal Malfunction Continues to control. Returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Speed Sensor Signal Malfunction Continues to control. After 5 seconds, returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Height Control Sensor Signal Malfunction Stops operation after returning to the initial position (Fail at higher than the initial position). Stops operation at the current position (Fail at lower than the initial position). Returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Headlight Leveling Motor Malfunction Normal side headlight leveling motor Stops operation after returning to the initial position (Fail at higher than the initial position). Stops at the current position (Fail at lower than the initial position). Returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Abnormal side headlight leveling motor Stops at the current position. Communication Signal Malfunction Skid control ECU: Judges that the vehicle speed is 0 km/h (0 mph) and continues control. Returns both headlight swivel motors back to the front. Steering angle sensor: Continues to control.
