CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

HINT

Detect the vehicle's ECM using check mode. Intermittent problems are easier to detect when the hand-held tester is in check mode. In check mode, the hand-held tester uses 1 trip detection logic, which has a higher sensitivity to malfunctions than normal mode (default), which uses 2 trip detection logic.

  1. Clear the DTCs (see «DTC CHECK/CLEAR»(ref-209347-S24476769982005120900000) ).
  2. Set the check mode (see «CHECK MODE PROCEDURE»(ref-209347-S35445511632005120900000) ).
  3. Perform a simulation test.
  4. Check the connector and terminal (see «ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-218525-S07507750332006020700000) ).
