  4. Set to "SHIP" mode to prevent mechanical damage due to any impacts when the radio is transported. Attach the label shown below to the top of the product case so as not to skip any procedure and to follow the procedure correctly.

  1. SHIP MODE SETTING Take out all CDs. NOTE: If the CDs cannot be taken out, do not attempt to take out forcibly. Send the unit for repair.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. While holding the "UP" and "DISC" switches, turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. HINT: The CD indicator light blinks during the mode setting and remains lit after the setting is completed. w/o Multi-display:When the mode setting is completed, "SHIP" appears on the display. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and disconnect the battery negative terminal. NOTE: Connecting the battery negative terminal automatically ends the ship mode.
  4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER (SEE «REPLACEMENT» )
  5. REMOVE PANEL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH LOWER (SEE «REPLACEMENT» )
  6. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY W/BRACKET w/o Multi-display: Remove the 2 bolts and disengage the 5 clips. w/ Multi-display: Remove the 2 bolts. w/ Multi-display: Disengage the 2 clips and 4 claws. Disconnect the connector and remove the radio receiver assembly with bracket.
  7. SHIP MODE CONFIRMATION See the back side of the radio receiver assy and check that the window provided for mode checking is red. NOTE: If the window is not red, perform the ship mode setting again.
  8. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSY Remove the 4 screws and 2 brackets from the radio receiver assembly.
  9. INSTALL RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY W/BRACKET Make sure that the battery negative terminal is disconnected. NOTE: Radio receiver with CD changer: If the connector is installed with the battery connected, the system will start initialization. Vibration during initialization may cause problems in the radio receiver assy. Connect the connector. Install the radio receiver assembly with the 2 bolts.

  6. REMOVE TEMPERATURE CONTROL SWITCH ASSY Disengage the 2 claws. Disconnect the connector and remove the temperature control switch assembly. Perform the same procedure on the other side.
  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSY CENTER Remove the 4 bolts. Disengage the 4 clips. NOTE: In order to prevent the safety pad from being damaged, do not pry with a screwdriver or similar tool Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assy center.
  8. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY Remove the 4 screws and multi-display. HINT: After the replacement, perform the screen noise automatic adjustment when screen noise occurs (SEE «POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY)» ).

  1. REMOVE RR SEAT CTR ARMREST PANEL Remove the 2 rear seat back covers. Remove the 2 screws and disconnect the rear seat armrest board. Remove the 3 screws. Disengage the 12 claws and remove the rear seat center armrest panel.
  2. REMOVE RADIO SWITCH AND VOLUME ASSY Disconnect the connector. Remove the 6 screws and radio switch and volume assy.

  7. REMOVE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSY W/BRACKET (W/O LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM) Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 nuts and stereo component tuner assy with bracket.
  8. REMOVE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSY W/BRACKET (W/ LEXUS NAVIGATION SYSTEM) Disconnect the connector. Remove the nut and stereo component tuner assy with bracket.
  9. REMOVE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSY Remove the 4 screws and 2 brackets.

Pull out the television camera ECU along the stereo component amplifier assy guide toward the rear of the vehicle to remove it. If the television camera ECU is not easily removed due to a lack of space between the television camera ECU and the vehicle, remove the television camera ECU together with the stereo component amplifier assy (SEE «STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY» ).
  7. INSTALL TELEVISION CAMERA ECU Install the television camera ECU by aligning it with the stereo component amplifier assy guide, and tighten the bolt. Connect the connector. HINT: After the replacement, perform the screen noise automatic adjustment when screen noise occurs (SEE «POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSY)» ).

  1. GLASS PRINTED ANTENNA INSPECTION PROCEDURE NOTE: When cleaning the glass, use a soft, dry cloth, and wiper the glass in the direction of the wire. Take care not to damage the wires. Do not use detergents or glass cleaners with abrasive ingredients. When measuring voltage, wind a piece of tin foil around the top of the negative probe and press the foil against the wire with your finger, as shown in the illustration. Inspect the continuity at the center of each antenna wire, as shown in the illustration.
  2. GLASS PRINTED ANTENNA REPAIR PROCEDURE Clean the broken wire tips with a grease, wax and silicone remover. Place the masking tape along both sides of the wire to be repaired. Thoroughly mix the repair agent (DuPont paste No. 4817). Using a fine tip brush, apply a small amount to the wire. After a few minutes, remove the masking tape. Do not repair the defogger wire for at least 24 hours.
