This DTC is stored when a failure of the automatic light control sensor circuit is detected.

The headlight leveling ECU assembly detects the status of the low beam headlights to judge whether to operate the automatic headlight beam level control system.
Scheme 226
The HEAD LP relay is operated by the main body ECU RH when it receives a signal via BEAN from the windshield wiper switch assembly (light control switch).
A backup line is also provided to enable headlight operation if there is a communication malfunction. The line runs between the windshield wiper switch assembly (light control switch) and main body ECU RH.
When the theft deterrent system is activated, it causes the ECU to turn the HEAD LP relay on and off repeatedly at approximately 0.25 second intervals to flash the headlights.
In this condition, if any of the following operations is performed, the ECU turns the HEAD LP relay off to stop the headlight from flashing
- Unlock the driver door with a key.
- Turn the engine switch on (ACC or IG).
- Unlock the doors with the wireless door lock control system.

When the front controller receives a high beam turn ON signal, the front controller turns on its IC relays to operate the high beam headlights.
for HID Type
When the front controller receives a high beam turn ON signal, the front controller turns on the HEAD HI relay to operate the high beam headlights and activates the Bi-function. This Bi-function increases the upper illumination area of the discharge bulb (low beam) by activating the headlight solenoid built into the headlight unit to slide the shade down.

The front controller receives fog light switch information from the combination switch, and turns on the fog lights.

The main body ECU LH controls the operation of the turn signal flasher. The turn signal flasher blinks the turn signal lights.
The main body ECU LH receives RH/LH turn signal light blink request signals from the combination switch ECU through BEAN communication and sends operation signals to the turn signal flasher.

The hazard warning switch sends a signal to the turn signal flasher.
The turn signal flasher blinks the turn signal lights.
Also, the main body ECU RH activates the flasher relay when the alarm of the theft deterrent system goes off.

Front lights (HID Type, w/ Daytime running lights)
The front controller controls the operation of the FR TAIL relay. The FR TAIL relay turns on the front side marker lights and an IC relay in the front controller operates the parking lights.
Front lights (HID Type, w/o Daytime running lights or Except HID Type)
The front controller controls the operation of the FR TAIL relay. The FR TAIL relay turns on the front side marker lights and parking lights.
The front controller receives front side marker and parking light ON request signals from the combination switch ECU through BEAN communication and activates the FR TAIL relay and IC relay.
The FR TAIL relay is built into the front controller, so unlike conventional relays, it cannot be removed for inspection.
Rear lights
The main body ECU RH controls the operation of the TAIL relay. The TAIL relay turns on the taillights, license plate lights, and side marker lights.
The main body ECU RH receives taillight, license plate light, and side marker light ON request signals from the combination switch ECU through BEAN communication and activates the TAIL relay.
The TAIL relay is built into the cowl side junction block LH, so unlike conventional relays, it cannot be removed for inspection.

The combination switch ECU (windshield wiper switch assembly) receives the following switch information
- Light control switch position is Off, Tail, Head, or Auto
- Headlight dimmer switch position is High, Low, or Flash (Pass)
- Turn signal switch position is LH, RH, or Off
- Fog light switch position is On or Off
The combination switch ECU then converts these signals to BEAN signals and sends them to each ECU via the multiplex communication system.
The headlight dimmer switch assembly includes the light control, headlight dimmer, turn signal, and fog light switches.

The main body ECU RH receives a HEAD position signal from the combination switch as a backup link. It also receives a signal from the combination switch via the multiplex communication system.
If this link is grounded, the headlights will illuminate.

The main body ECU RH detects the condition of each door courtesy switch and sends a signal to each ECU via the multiplex communication circuit.

The operation timing of the scuff plate lights is the same as that of the front and rear interior lights.
The scuff plate lights turn on when a door is opened, and turn off when the door is closed. This illumination setting can be canceled using the overhead J/B switch.
In addition, the scuff plate lights blink while the theft deterrent system is sounding an alarm.
The turning on and off of the scuff plate lights is controlled by the main body ECU LH based on various signals received through BEAN communication.
The main body ECU LH includes a MOS-FET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor - Field Effect Transistor) circuit that fades the scuff plate lights in and out by duty control.
This MOS-FET circuit has an overheat protection function as a fail-safe. If the main body ECU LH becomes excessively hot, the scuff plate lights turn off and remain off.
Normal operation will resume when the conditions required to turn on the scuff plate lights are met again.

The seat illumination can be canceled using the overhead J/B switch.
The turning on and off of the seat illumination is controlled by the main body ECU LH based on various signals received through BEAN communication.
The main body ECU LH includes a MOS-FET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor - Field Effect Transistor) circuit that fades the seat illumination in and out by duty control.
This MOS-FET circuit has an overheat protection function as a fail-safe. If the main body ECU LH becomes excessively hot, the seat illumination turns off and remains off.
Normal operation will resume when the conditions required to turn on the seat illumination are met again.

The turning on and off of the shift illumination is controlled by the main body ECU LH based on various signals received through BEAN communication.
The main body ECU LH includes a MOS-FET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor - Field Effect Transistor) circuit that fades the shift illumination in and out by duty control.
This MOS-FET circuit has an overheat protection function as a fail-safe. If the main body ECU LH becomes excessively hot, the shift illumination turns off and remains off.
Normal operation will resume when the conditions required to turn on the shift illumination are met again.

The Interior lights turn on when a door is opened, and turn off when the door is closed. This illumination setting can be canceled using the overhead J/B switch.

If the vehicle is equipped with scuff plate lights, their operation timing is the same as that of the interior lights.

The main body ECU RH receives information on the front interior light switch (marked ON/OFF).
The main body ECU LH receives information on the front interior light switch (marked DOOR).
According to the position of each switch, the main body ECU RH controls the turning on and off of the interior lights, and the main body ECU LH controls the illuminated entry system.

The main body ECU RH receives information regarding the door lock position switches, door courtesy switches, and engine switch, and turns on each footwell light.
This illumination setting can be canceled using the light control rheostat.

This MOS-FET circuit has an overheat protection function as a fail-safe. If the main body ECU LH becomes excessively hot, the door mirror foot lights turn off and remain off.
Normal operation will resume when the conditions required to turn on the door mirror foot lights are met again.

The headlight leveling ECU assembly uses the ALTL signal as the engine running signal to judge whether to operate the automatic headlight beam level control system.

This circuit is uses to detect the on (IG) state of the power source circuit. The headlight leveling ECU assembly receives the signal from the LH-IG1 relay.

This circuit provides power to operate the height control sensor. The headlight leveling ECU assembly calculates a height value from the height control sensor signal and the voltage at the power source of the height control sensor. The voltage at the power source of the height control sensor is corrected when SHFL or SHRL is detected.
