PROCEDURE

  1. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR INSTALLATION Check the speed sensor (SP2) installation. OK The installation bolt is tightened properly and there is no clearance between the sensor and transmission case. NG --> SECURELY INSTALL SPEED SENSOR OR REPLACE SPEED SENSOR OK: Go to next step
  2. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR (SP2) Disconnect the speed sensor connector from the transmission. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition 20°C (68°F) 1 - 2 560 to 680 ohms NG --> REPLACE SPEED SENSOR (SP2) OK: Go to next step
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPEED SENSOR - ECM) Connect the speed sensor connector. Disconnect the ECM connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition 20°C (68°F) E4-23 (SP2+) - E4-22 (SP2-) 560 to 680 ohms Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. When you use Techstream: Select the item "Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Codes". Read the DTCs using the Techstream. READ VALUE USING DATA LIST (STP SIGNAL) HINT: Using Techstream to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Turn the engine switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) position. Turn the Techstream on. Select the item "Powertrain / ECT / Data List". According to the display on the tester, read the "Data List".   2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM HINT: Using the Techstream to perform Active Test allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Test early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Test. Warm up the engine. Turn the engine switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) position. Turn the Techstream on. Select the item "Powertrain / ECT / Active Test". According to the display on tester, perform the "Active Test". HINT: While driving, the shift position can be forcibly changed with the Techstream. Comparing the shift position commanded by the Active Test with the actual shift position enables you to confirm the problem. Refer to «FAIL-SAFE CHART [08/2012 - ]»(ref-606494-S38462055682014032500000) . Item Test Details Diagnostic Note Control the Shift Position [Test Details] Operate the shift solenoid valve and set the each shift position by yourself. [Vehicle Condition] IDL: ON (4th, 5th and 6th) Less than 50 km/h (31 mph) [Others] Press "-->" button: Shift up Press "<--" button: Shift down Possible to check the operation of the shift solenoid valves. HINT: This test can be conducted when the vehicle speed is 50 km/h (31 mph) or less. The 4th to 5th and 5th to 6th up-shiftings must be performed with the accelerator pedal released. The 6th to 5th and 5th to 4th down-shiftings must be performed with the accelerator pedal released. Do not operate the accelerator pedal for at least 2 seconds after shifting and do not shift successively. The shift position commanded by the ECM is shown in the Data List (Shift Status) display on the Techstream. Gear positions in the event of a solenoid valve mechanical problem: Tester command gearshift 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th Actual gear position under malfunction ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ 4th OK Gear position changes in accordance with the tester command. NG --> REPLACE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY OK: Go to next step
  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT) NOTE: Perform the test at the normal operating ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) temperature: 50 to 80°C (122 to 176°F) Be careful to prevent SST hose from interfering with the exhaust pipe. This check must be conducted after checking and adjusting engine. Perform under condition that A/C is OFF. HINT: Using the Techstream to perform Active Test allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Test early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Test. Turn the engine switch off. Lift the vehicle up. Remove the test plug on the transmission case center right side and connect SST. SST: 09992-00095 09992-00231 09992-00271 Lower the vehicle. Fully apply the parking brake and chock the 4 wheels. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Start the engine. Warm up the ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid). Measure the line pressure when the engine is idling. Turn the Techstream on. Select the item "Powertrain / ECT / Active Test". According to the display on tester, perform the "Active Test". Measure the line pressure with SST. Item Test Details Activate the Solenoid (SLT)* [Test Details] Operate the shift solenoid SLT and raise the line pressure. [Vehicle Condition] Vehicle Stopped. IDL: ON HINT: OFF: Line pressure up (When the active test of "Activate the Solenoid (SLT)" is performed, the ECM commands the SLT solenoid to turn off). This check must be conducted after checking and adjusting engine. Perform under condition that A/C is OFF. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Test early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Test. Turn the engine switch off. The linear solenoid valve (SLT) controls the transmission line pressure for smooth transmission operation based on signals from the throttle position sensor and the vehicle speed sensor. The ECM adjusts the duty ratio (*) of the SLT solenoid valve to control hydraulic line pressure coming from the primary regulator valve. Appropriate line pressure assures smooth shifting with varying engine outputs.

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (RUNNING TEST) HINT: Using the Techstream to perform Active Test allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Test early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Test. Warm up the engine. Turn the engine switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) position. Turn the Techstream on. Select the item "Powertrain / ECT / Active Test". According to the display on tester, perform the "Active Test". HINT: While driving, the shift position can be forcibly changed with the Techstream. Comparing the shift position commanded by the Active Test with the actual shift position enables you to confirm the problem.   1. CHECK OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2757) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) position and push the Techstream main switch ON. When you use Techstream: Select the item "Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Codes". Read the DTCs using the Techstream. Result Display (DTC output) Proceed to Only "P2757" is output A "P2757" and other DTCs B HINT: If any other codes besides "P2757" are output, perform troubleshooting for those DTCs first. B --> GO TO DTC CHART A: Go to next step
  2. INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU Remove the shift solenoid valve SLU. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition 20°C (68°F) 1 - 2 5.0 to 5.6 ohms Connect the positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector, then check the movement of the valve. OK The solenoid makes an operating sound. NG --> REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLU OK: Go to next step
  3. INSPECT TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY OK There are no foreign objects on each valve. NG --> REPLACE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY OK: Go to next step
  4. INSPECT TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY Check the torque converter clutch assembly. Refer to «INSPECTION [08/2012 - ]»(ref-606455-S41660141522014032500000) . OK The torque converter clutch operates normally. NG --> REPLACE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY OK --> REPAIR OR REPLACE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY

  1. DRIVING TEST Start the engine. Turn the ECT SNOW switch "OFF" (Normal drive mode). Confirm vehicle response by driving from a parked position to fully depressing the accelerator pedal. Turn the ECT SNOW switch "ON" and perform the same check as above. Confirm that there is a difference between ECT SNOW switch "ON" and "OFF". HINT: Driving test should be done on a paved road (a nonskid road). Make sure not to use the TRAC system when testing a vehicle equipped with one.
