DESCRIPTION

The seat belt control ECU receives information from the distance control ECU through CAN communication and tightens the seat belt by operating the motor in the front seat outer belt assembly RH.

CAUTIONThe pretensioner is built into the front seat outer belt assembly RH. Be sure to follow the correct inspection procedure, as failure to follow the correct procedure (such as inspection of incorrect connectors) may deploy the pretensioner.

This DTC is output when one of the following occurs: 1) an error in communication with the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is detected, or 2) vehicle information sent from the radar sensor assembly is abnormal. If output, perform initialization on the radar sensor assembly to register the vehicle information to the radar sensor assembly.

This DTC is output when a malfunction in the steering angle sensor is detected. This circuit consists of the steering angle sensor and seat belt control ECU. Signals are sent from the steering sensor using CAN communication.

The distance control ECU uses the combination meter to send vehicle speed information to the ECM. The ECM and the skid control ECU use CAN communication to send vehicle speed information to the distance control ECU. This DTC is output when the difference between the vehicle speed information from the ECM and the skid control ECU is more than the specified value.

  1. This circuit consists of the front seat inner belt assembly RH, front seat inner belt assembly LH, center airbag sensor assembly and seat belt control ECU.
  2. When the driver side seat belt is fastened to the front seat inner belt assembly LH, the center airbag sensor assembly detects malfunctions in the circuit.
  3. When the passenger side seat belt is fastened to the front seat inner belt assembly RH, the seat belt control ECU detects malfunctions in the circuit.
  4. The center airbag sensor assembly sends information about the seat belt fastened/unfastened condition and circuit malfunctions through CAN communication to the seat belt control ECU.
  5. The seat belt control ECU uses information from the center airbag sensor assembly to control the pre-collision system.

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM) Delete the DTC (See «TERMINALS OF ECU»(ref-235580-S10160782902006062400000) ). Check that the DTC B1655 is not output. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in «SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU - FRONT SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY RH»(ref-235580-S28022063322006062400000).   8. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM) Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal and wait at least 90 seconds. Connect the connectors from the center airbag sensor assembly and front seat inner belt assembly RH. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal and turn the engine switch on (IG). Then wait 60 seconds. Delete the DTC (See «TERMINALS OF ECU»(ref-235580-S10160782902006062400000) ). Recheck for DTC. OK: DTC B2063 is not output. OK: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK NG: Go to next step
  9. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal and wait at least 90 seconds. Replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH (See «REMOVAL»(ref-235573-S11624302162006062400000) ).
  10. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM) Connect the negative (-) battery terminal and turn the engine switch on (IG). Then wait 60 seconds. Delete the DTC (See «TERMINALS OF ECU»(ref-235580-S10160782902006062400000) ). Recheck for DTC. OK: DTC B2063 is not output. NG: REPLACE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU OK: END

The seat belt control ECU is connected to the gateway ECU using CAN communication. The seat belt control ECU receives vehicle model information from the gateway ECU and determines whether the seat belt buckle switch information from the center airbag sensor assembly is for the driver seat or the passenger seat. DTC B2064 is output when the CAN communication frame with the gateway ECU is normal and communication is available, but the steering wheel position information is not set or varies.
