PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-398246-S01125415292011051600000) . Turn the power switch off. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds. Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-398246-S01125415292011051600000) . OK DTC B1000/31 is not output. NG --> See step 3 OK --> See step 2
  2. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-398089-S18270818032011051600000)
  3. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398090-S02975140692011051600000)
  1. CHECK FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR RH Turn the power switch off. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system. Interchange the front airbag sensor LH with RH and connect the connectors. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds. Clear the DTCs stored in the memory. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-398246-S01125415292011051600000) . Turn the power switch off. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds. Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-398246-S01125415292011051600000) . Result Result Proceed to DTCs B1610/13 and B1615/14 are not output. A DTC B1610/13 is output. B DTC B1615/14 is output.   1. CHECK FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR LH Turn the power switch off. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.   1. CHECK DTC Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds. Turn the power switch off. HINT: If a communication error occurs, DTCs for both the LH and RH sides will be stored simultaneously. To identify the malfunctioning area, turn the power switch off and then on (IG) again. Turn the power switch on (IG), and wait for at least 60 seconds. Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-398246-S01125415292011051600000) . Result Result Proceed to DTCs B1613/83 and B1618/84 are not output. A DTC B1613/83 is output. B DTC B1618/84 is output. C HINT: DTCs indicating communication errors will be changed to DTCs indicating errors in initialization by turning the power switch off and then on (IG) again. Codes other than DTCs B1613/83 and B1618/84 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check. C --> See step 4 B --> See step 3 A: Go to next step

  1. CHECK AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE Measure the voltage of the auxiliary battery. Standard Voltage 11 to 14 V NG --> See step 5 OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK CONNECTOR Turn the power switch off. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system. Check that the connector is properly connected to the combination meter assembly. OK The connector is properly connected. HINT: If the connector is not connected securely, reconnect the connector and proceed to the next inspection. Disconnect the connector from the combination meter assembly. Check that the terminal of the connector is not damaged. OK The terminal is not deformed or damaged. NG --> REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OK: Go to next step
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal. Turn the power switch on (IG). Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F4-21 (IG2) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V F4-22 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V Turn the power switch off. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F4-33 (EP) - Body ground Always Below 1 ohms TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Front view of wire harness connector (to Combination Meter Assembly) NG --> REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OK: Go to next step
  4. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system. Connect the connector to the combination meter assembly. Disconnect the connector from the center airbag sensor assembly. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal. Turn the power switch on (IG). Check the SRS warning light condition. OK After the primary check period, the SRS warning light goes off for approximately 10 seconds and turns back on. HINT: The primary check period is approximately 6 seconds after the power switch switch is turned on (IG). NG --> See step 7 OK --> See step 6
  5. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY. Refer to «ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION»(ref-398219-S35747524102011051600000)
  6. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398090-S02975140692011051600000)
  7. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398236-S19518532552011051600000)
