Engine Immbiliser (Diagnostic Codes & Symptom Tests): Other Lexus HS I

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-398102-S02087029272011051600000) . Recheck for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-398102-S02087029272011051600000) . OK DTC B2784 is not output. NG --> See step 2 OK --> See step 6
  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - POWER SWITCH) Disconnect the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector. Disconnect the power switch connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F50-12 (TXCT) - F2-9 (TXCT) Always Below 1 ohms F50-13 (CODE) - F2-10 (CODE) Always Below 1 ohms F50-12 (TXCT) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher F50-13 (CODE) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  3. REPLACE POWER SWITCH Replace the power switch. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398263-S28435208792011051600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  4. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398251-S14180786362011051600000)
  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-398102-S02087029272011051600000) . Recheck for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-398102-S02087029272011051600000) . OK DTC B2784 is not output. NG --> See step 4 OK --> END (POWER SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE)
  6. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-398089-S18270818032011051600000)
  1. REPLACE ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU) Replace the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398251-S11690986392011051600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  2. ECU CODE REGISTRATION Register the ECU code. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-398102-S15882048162011051600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  3. ECU COMMUNICATION ID REGISTRATION Register the ECU communication ID. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-398102-S15882048162011051600000) . NEXT: Go to next step

  2. RE-REGISTER ECU COMMUNICATION ID Re-register the ECU communication ID. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-398102-S15882048162011051600000) . NEXT: Go to next step

  4. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION Turn the power switch off. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the hybrid vehicle control ECU and ID code box (immobiliser code ECU). OK Connectors are properly connected. NG --> CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY OK: Go to next step
  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ID CODE BOX - HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU) Disconnect the ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) connector. Disconnect the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition F16-5 (EFII) - A58-41 (IMO) Always Below 1 ohms F16-6 (EFIO) - A58-42 (IMI) Always Below 1 ohms A58-41 (IMO) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher A58-42 (IMI) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher Standard Voltage Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A58-41 (IMO) - Body ground Always Below 1 V A58-42 (IMI) - Body ground Always Below 1 V NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  6. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU Replace the hybrid vehicle control ECU. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398232-S36824664312011051600000) . NEXT: Go to next step

  3. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-398232-S36824664312011051600000)
  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Active Test. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream. SMART ACCESS (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)) Tester Display Test Part Control Range Immobiliser Indicator Security indicator light ON or OFF OK The security indicator light turns on and off according to operation via the Techstream.   2. INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY Disconnect the integration control and panel assembly connector. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
