PRECAUTION [03/2012 - ]
- PRECAUTION OF WASHER NOZZLE SUB-ASSEMBLY ADJUSTMENT Do not clean or adjust the washer nozzle sub-assembly with a safety pin, etc. because: The washer nozzle sub-assembly tip is made of resin and could be damaged. Adjustment is not necessary for this spray type washer nozzle sub-assembly. If it is necessary to change the nozzle angle, replace the washer nozzle sub-assembly with one that has a different nozzle angle. If the washer nozzle sub-assembly is clogged with wax, etc., remove it and clean the nozzle hole with a soft resin brush or other cleaning tool.

- MOMENTARY WIPER SWITCH HINT: The windshield wiper switch assembly is a momentary type switch. The lever position naturally returns to the initial position (NEUTRAL). TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *1 Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly *2 AUTO Wiper ON/OFF Switch *3 Auto Sensitivity Adjustment *4 Auto Wiper Indicator *a Position P4 *b Position P3 *c Position P2 *d Position P1 *e Off *f DOWN *g NEUTRAL *h UP *i HI Off control Forcibly turns the wipers off. DOWN control Changes the wipers from HI to LO operation, and from LO operation to off. When the wipers are already off, MIST (one single wipe) operates. HINT: When intermittent operation is being performed during AUTO control, MIST operates, and during continuous operation, the operation state is maintained. UP control Changes the wipers from off to LO operation, and from LO to HI operation. HINT: During AUTO control, AUTO control switches to LO operation. During HI operation, the operation state is maintained. HI control Forcibly switches the wipers to HI operation.
- RAIN SENSING WIPER FUNCTION AUTO wiper ON/OFF switch By turning the AUTO wiper ON/OFF switch at the end of the windshield wiper switch assembly to on, the rain sensing auto wiper function switches on and the auto wiper indicator on the windshield wiper switch assembly illuminates. The rain sensing semi-auto wiper function automatically operates the wipers when rain is detected. Rain sensor sensitivity adjustment function When the AUTO wiper ON/OFF switch is on, the rain sensor sensitivity and wiper operation timing can be adjusted by operating the auto sensitivity adjustment volume of the windshield wiper switch assembly. Vehicle speed response intermittent timing adjustment function When the AUTO wiper ON/OFF switch is on, the intermittent operation of the wipers changes according to vehicle speed. The intermittent operation can be adjusted by operating the auto sensitivity adjustment volume.
- HEADLIGHT CLEANER FUNCTION (w/ Headlight Cleaner) When the power switch is on (IG) and the headlights are illuminated, if the headlight cleaner switch is turned on, the headlight cleaner switch signal is output to the headlight cleaner control relay, and the headlight cleaner control relay operates the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly. This helps to remove dirt and to aid the LED light, which does not release much heat compared to a halogen light, in melting snow. The headlight cleaner system also operates when the front washer switch is first operated with the headlights on after the power switch is on (IG).
- WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING FUNCTION When the amount of washer fluid has decreased, "Low Washer Fluid" is displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly according to a signal from the level warning switch assembly installed to the washer tank.
FAIL-SAFE CHART [03/2012 - ]
- AUTO WIPER SYSTEM The rain sensor operates in fail-safe mode if an abnormal condition such as those listed below has been detected. Item Outline Detection of abnormal high temperature The operation of the rain sensing function stops. Detection of abnormal input voltage (low input voltage) Detection of abnormal low temperature Switches to the intermittent operation. Detection of abnormal output signal Detection of abnormal communication
