Electronically Controlled Brake System (Diagnostic Codes & Symptom Tests): Other Lexus GS IV

PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK ABS CONTROL SYSTEM Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S41685570292014022400000) . Turn the power switch on (READY). Drive the vehicle at a speed of approximately 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for 60 seconds or more. Check if the same DTC is recorded. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S41685570292014022400000) . Result Result Proceed to DTC (ABS control system DTC) is not output A DTC (ABS control system DTC) is output B B --> See step 4 A: Go to next step
  2. RECONFIRM DTC Turn the power switch off. Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S41685570292014022400000) . Turn the power switch on (READY). Drive the vehicle at a speed of approximately 40 km/h (25 mph) or more for 60 seconds or more. Check if the same DTC is recorded.   1. PERFORM INITIALIZATION AND CALIBRATION OF LINEAR SOLENOID VALVE Perform initialization and calibration of the linear solenoid valve. Refer to «INITIALIZATION [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S22422215162014022400000) . HINT: Before carrying out Perform Initialization and Calibration of Linear Solenoid Valve, C1203/95 will be output. NEXT: Go to next step
  2. RECONFIRM DTC Turn the power switch off. Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S41685570292014022400000) . Turn the power switch on (IG).   3. CHECK PART NUMBER (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) Check that a proper skid control ECU assembly is installed. OK Proper skid control ECU assembly is installed. Check if the skid control ECU assembly had been replaced before the DTC was stored. OK Skid control ECU assembly had not been replaced.   5. CHECK INITIALIZATION AND CALIBRATION OF LINEAR SOLENOID VALVE After replacing the skid control ECU assembly, check that the initialization and calibration of the linear solenoid valve is being performed. OK Initialization and calibration of the linear solenoid valve is being performed. HINT: If a new skid control ECU assembly is installed, C1203/95 is output before initialization and calibration of the linear solenoid valve is performed. NG --> See step 7 OK --> See step 8

  8. REPLACE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600606-S38751024972014022400000)
  1. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and acceleration sensor. Refer to «CALIBRATION [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S38783757642014022400000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  2. RECONFIRM DTC Turn the power switch off. Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S41685570292014022400000) . Turn the power switch on (READY). Drive the vehicle at a speed of 30 km/h (18 mph) or more, turn the steering wheel, and decelerate (depress the brake pedal) the vehicle. Check if the same DTC is recorded. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S41685570292014022400000) . Result Result Proceed to DTCs (C1210/36 and/or C1336/98) are output A DTCs (C1210/36 and C1336/98) are not output B HINT: The DTCs are recorded because zero point calibration has not been completed.   3. CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR INSTALLATION Turn the power switch off. Check that the yaw rate sensor has been installed properly. Refer to «INSTALLATION [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600606-S33557195542014022400000) . OK The sensor bolt should be tightened to the specified torque. The sensor should not be tilted. NG --> See step 6 OK: Go to next step
  4. REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR Replace the yaw rate sensor. Refer to «REMOVAL [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600606-S13756556792014022400000) . NOTE: Check the yaw rate sensor signal after replacement. Refer to «TEST MODE PROCEDURE [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S00576269522014022400000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  5. RECONFIRM DTC Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S41685570292014022400000) . Turn the power switch on (READY).   1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) Make sure that there is no looseness at the locking part and the connecting part of the connectors. Disconnect the A14 and A16 skid control ECU assembly connectors and the A12 brake actuator assembly connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (MASTER CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR) Reconnect the skid control ECU assembly connectors and the brake actuator assembly connector. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch on (IG). Select the Data List on the Techstream. Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [03/2012 - ]»(ref-600441-S00637717752014022400000) . OK Output voltage is proportional to pedal stroke, and there is not a large difference in output between sensor 1 and sensor 2. HINT: If DTCs are stored due to the brake pedal being depressed, and electronically controlled brake system control is prohibited, check the Freeze Frame Data recorded at the time the DTCs were stored. If the Freeze Frame Data shows that there are no abnormalities in the output of the master cylinder pressure sensors and no difference in the output between sensor 1 and sensor 2, proceed to the next step.   3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (WHEEL CYLINDER PRESSURE SENSOR) Turn the power switch off. Install a hydro LSPV gauge and bleed air.
